FEATURED ITEM: SHI THROUGH THE ASHES
By Billy Tucci
After witnessing the tragic events of the World Trade Center bombings, Ana Ishikawa like many New Yorkers, is recruited to aid in the rescue effort.
Given a fallen Firefighter's helmet and turnout gear, she sifts through a smoldering holocaust of glass, steel and pulverized cement.
The daughter of a fireman, Ana finds herself working along side a dust-covered member of New York's Bravest. Amid the hundreds of rescue workers, the two bond as they toil through the night desperately searching for his missing daughter.
Through The Ashes surrealistically transcends time as the two help one another through America's worst day. Ana not only comforts the indefatigable Firefighter but she also finds closure with the father she lost so long ago.
Profits from Shi- Through The Ashes will go to the American Red Cross.
SHI THROUGH THE ASHES…$2.99 (24 pages b/w with color cover)
OFFERED AGAIN: Some Trouble of a SeRRious Nature- Greg Hilderbrandt Edition
By Tucci, DeMott, Vilardi, Cover by Greg Hilderbrandt
Master illustrator Greg Hilderbrandt has donated a special variant cover for the comic book adaptation of Billy Tucci's new film, Some Trouble of a SeRRious Nature.
" Greg's generous gift of his beautiful painting Made in the U.S.A, seems to be an act of fate" Explains Billy. "The pin-up cover depicts a stunning blonde sitting atop an F4-U Corsair, which happens to coincidentally be the same Corsair we are using in the film. Jeff Clyman's "555" is one of the few airworthy bent winged warriors left in the world and that Greg chose it is yet another indication that things are falling into place for the film." But more importantly, the reason behind Greg's gift is not one of entertainment, but of love and patriotism. All the profits from the Hilderbrandt cover will go to the American Red Cross to aid the victims of the cowardly attacks of September 11th.
"Some Trouble of a SeRRious Nature is the hysterical tale of one unfortunate Chance Vought F4U Corsair fighter plane and the hillbillies' who are determined to fly it.
"To those within the aviation and military circles, the story is legendary." Billy said, "Thousands of copies have been distributed since 1947."
Some Trouble of a SeRRious Nature is Billy's directorial debut and written with the original author, Lt. Cmdr. Richard W. DeMott.
The live action comedy will be filmed this November and features a World War 2 veteran F4U Corsair (the "555" used in Greg's painting!), a full-scale static replica, and a painstakingly detailed digital model. Billy is illustrating the color comic adaptation of the film. The comic will be a hybrid of Billy's incredibly detailed sequential art with the film's actual digital Corsair by John Vilardi (Burning Blue / The Undaunted).
Both Tucci's and Hilderbrandt's versions of the 32 page Some Trouble of a SeRRious Nature comic book will contain color pages of Tucci sequential art, a copy of Lt. Cmdr's DeMott's original letter, behind the scenes photos, script notes and lots more! It is priced at $3.50.
