May sets the stage for Tucci's Feature Film debut
The Burning Blue Illustrated Screenplay is scheduled for a May 2003 release in advance of production of Billy Tucci's latest film project, The Burning Blue. The complete script to Tucci's upcoming feature film directing debut (shooting Summer 2003) is beautifully interwoven with storyboards, character studies and developmental art from the production. This massive 196-page project uniquely affords readers a inside look into this modern-day retelling of Don Quixote as a former WW2 fighter pilot, ravaged by the early symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, and a school teacher suffering a grueling divorce find salvation through the love of flight.
While best known in comics circles for creating, writing and illustrating Shi since 1994, Tucci has increasingly developed his interest in motion pictures. His first short film as writer-producer-director, some trouble of a SeRRious nature, debuted at the Long Island International Film Expo where it was awarded "Best Short Film (Video)" in 2002. While some trouble… makes the rounds of the international festival circuit, Tucci focused on developing The Burning Blue's Illustrated Screenplay as a package that affords his cast, crew, investors and readers a complete view of film's makeup.
"As a film fan, books of illustrated or annotated screenplays have been a real source of both enjoyment and education for me," Tucci said. "I'm very happy to be able to do The Burning Blue in this fashion, and I think comic book and movie fans alike will be thoroughly entertained."
The Burning Blue Illustrated Screenplay, 196 Pages, B&W, will retail for $19.99. It will be listed in the March 2003 Previews and goes on sale in May.
