January 17, 2003 - Seattle, WA WizKids announces Shi Universe HeroClix
CrusadeFineArts.com is proud to showcase an exclusive first look at the soon to be released "Crusade Universe" HeroClix figures courtesy of WizKids LLC.
Originally announced at last year's Comic Con International in San Diego, the Crusade figures will be included in the upcoming "Indy HeroClix" line that is targeted to significantly enhance the hottest game of the year, HeroClix.
HeroClix are an ingenious line of collectable miniature figures designed for use with the HeroClix game system that already includes the Marvel and DC Universes.
The first five "Crusade Universe" figures to be released are Shi, Tomoe, Arashi, The Demon Samurai and Shi in Sohei Battle Dress.
"We are very pleased with the acquisition of these licenses," said Jordan Weisman, WizKids Founder and CEO. "The companies and creators that we are dealing with bring with them many wonderful characters that will enhance the HeroClix gaming experience. The combination of these licenses under one game release makes it possible to do all these characters in a way that is both fun as well as financially feasible. By bringing all these diverse characters together under the single product, HeroClix fans win by being able to expand their available forces, and comic book fans win by being exposed to new and different characters that they might not have had a chance to see before. I'm proud that WizKids is able to be part of such a win-win situation!"
Shi creator and Crusade publisher Billy Tucci commented on the progress of the Crusade figures, "I'm just in awe of these miniature sculpts and cannot wait for the new line of Indy HeroClix is released. I'm really looking forward to see just what Arashi will do when he gets his katanas on DareDevil!"
In addition to the Crusade figures, Indy "HeroClix" will also include characters from the universes of such noted comic book publishers as CrossGen Dark Horse, Top Cow, as well as individual characters from creators J. Scott Campbell (Danger Girl) and David Mack (Kabuki).
Indy HeroClix will be released summer 2003. For more info on "HeroClix" please go to www.wizkidsgames.com/.
