I saw something a while back on the same topic.
It was actually relating to non-violent ways to stop car chases in urban areas.
The plan was to mount EMP projectors on the bottom of Police Helicopters.  They just fly over the speeding car, pop it with a pulse that disables the electronics and the car starts slowing down.
Sounded plausible, once you get past the whole 'EMP Projector' part of it...

It sounds neat and all but what was going on in my head was much more interesting. My idea was a bunch of guys dressed like Race Bannon throwing microwave ovens out of a plane.
"Johnny, hand me that microwave." Race lifts the oven over his head then throws it out of the door. "Take that you Arab devils."
Cut to the ground.
Microwave ovens rain down on the turban clad soldiers below.
"Aieeeee!!!"

And to think you only heard those episodes of Space Ghost Coast to Coast. What would have happened if you had seen them?
