Her name is Devon Aoki and she is currently going to be in the film DEBS about an elite group of secret agent super hotties (these films are getting so deep ;))
She could play Anna or Tomoe and would be a big asset to the film because of potential investing from her father who happens to be the owner of the (phonetical spelling only) Bennie-Hana restaurants. Her mother was a top European model.
She fits the Shi mold and is plenty young and if this film of hers becomes a hit, (it is released this week), then she could be a hot commodity who could drum up interest in the Shi project.

Yes JSniderFamily, she was in 2 Fast, 2 Furious as one of the race car drivers. I hate movies like that, but I guess they are commercially successful and that's why she appeared in it.
Hey Sllamky01 perhaps you could see her as Anna if her hair was jet black. After all, she is half Japanese and half American. But I agree with you that she would be a good Tomoe also.

You are absolutely correct Billy. Devon will be in Sin City and I read a review where she does a lot of martial arts in the film.
What do you think of her? Do you think she would make a good Shi or Tomoe?

 I like devon a lot. I look forward to seeing her again in Sin City. Honestly, I'm shallow & I like seeing her based more on aesthetics as opposed to talent. Personally, I don't think she would be best choice for either Ana or Tomoe. However, if Billy ever gets to do HIS movie HIS way & then a sequal follows, I think Devon could make a good Kaji or Kori (or both).

I checked her out on IMdB, then went and googled her. While pretty, she doesn't fit the image I have of Ana. Tomoe, maybe. Her face just isn't what I picture for either of the characters, and while she has some great legs, the rest of her is too model thin. Just my thoughts on the matter.

PCT Chuck, My impression of Devon was she wasn't overly thin and not overly tall either. She stands at 5' 6", but if her two movies hit it big and she does especially well in "Sin City", then it would be a great move to incorporate her into the Shi movie in some role or capacity. Currently her dyed hair color is not right, but if she were to dye it black, I think she would look like Anna or Tomoe.
I was thinking of the Character of Anna, a young woman who is half Japanese who embraces the American side in the beginning of the movie over the Japanese side, only to change by the experiences that she ends up facing. In a sense Devon's own life is similar to this. She lives in New York and although her father is Japanese, she said she can barely speak any Japanese at all, but can speak some French.
Oh well, I just have a fun time playing pretend casting director. ;)

How did she look in the movie? I agree with Billy. She looked the part (menacing, beautiful, deadly, do not mess with me) and the action scenes were more implied that actually performed. For instance, I remember only one scene where her full length is shown. Other than that it is a breakaway and blood splatters or sound effects. |

I guess I will have to check her out in those two movies and see how she looks on film.
It will be interesting to see who actually becomes Shi. It is a mystery at the moment and like pursuit of the grail, almost a mythical hunt for the elusive actress who will play her.....
Can't wait for the movie to come out!
