Nice pick up. It's satisying to see that the pros have the same problem that I do with having a smooth gray tone on these covers.

Very Sharp! That would be a cool pose for Roxy on a Gen13, Kookey... <nudge nudge>
Mike Choi told me he sprays the slick covers w/ fixative before he starts so it is no longer slick. How that affects hue & contrast, I don't know, but he seemed to appreciate the texture change.

I really like that Mauricet piece.
Slammy picked me up a Texeira Shi cover last month. I should post it for you.
Nice additions, Boomer. When's your next con? Do you have to wait til F.A.C.T.s '10?
Were there any special edition blank covers for F.A.C.T.s?

I only have one or two con's a year. Only F.A.C.T.S. in Belgium in october every year I guess...but since I am soooo busy being Comicartist Liaison and Artis Alley Floor Manager for that show...well...that keeps me busy 12 months a year :)
No blank covers. I am however talking with Linsner about creating special sketchbooks for Europe and I might want that to pitch as an idea, as I will pitch that idea to all the other artists
when I have some news I will let you know!!

ha ha I was joking. For you to get some European artists to sketch on some blank Shi Sketch covers for me was what I was trying to imply.

Boom, I really like the sketches that you have been getting. Tell me the origin of this female wrapped in bandages.

Justin Gray wrote a cool miniseries for Moonstone Pubs; http://www.moonstonebooks.com/mummy.aspArtist Eliseu Gouveia http://www.etherlair.com/ made it into complete and utter magic. Then I started with a sketchbook and suddenly I wanted a theme. I could to with my fav character (Vampirella) but I wanted to do something with an edge and to see if I can trigger an artist into something they have yet to venture into... And it worked... :)

Boy, did it work! Those mummy ladies are something else. Someday I'll figure out a way to download my sketches. I've got a mummy drawing that is a lot of fun.

It is one of the better themes.
I know a collector that once joked w/ an artist about sketching their character trapped in a canning jar. It turned out so funny that ever since, all his commissions have been heroes in jars.

That's probably my favorite of the ones you've posted so far. I always like it when the artwork has a very distinct outline.

Sorry you misunderstood me. The girl is in the early stages of becoming a mummy. She's only got a little of the cloth strips around her.

Here's my haul from the Virginia comic con: A Tomoe sketch by Billy: Shi sketch by Billy: Spiderman by Alex Saviuk: The scanner did something goofy to his arm. Shi by Louis Small Jr. : Louis did a great job on this one. I basically had to be a serial stalker to get it. That's all for now, I have one more to post tomorrow. The show was a blast, Billy lived up to his reputation. Everything was great. I also had a nice chat with Randy Green. He couldn't have been nicer. Unfortunately, I ran out of cash or I would have gotten something from him.
