Very very nice! I know I'd prefer actually having a shot at it (although I'm sure I still won't be able to beat most of the people here), especially since I'm still waiting for my program to arrive from Greece (which I guess I deserve, having to be the one to buy the first one on Ebay and all), so my vote would be for some kind of bidding war here.   smiley

The comic shop that I use has the sketch cover of Fallen Son listed at $19.99.  The salesman I like best said that he agreed that this was a rip-off price, and that he didn't think that they had sold any copies.

That is not a surprise since every other shop on the planet is selling them at cover or below. If he manages to sell them at that, let me know and I will supply him with some at $10 each and he can double on them eyebrow3
Cost on those was exactly the same as the regular issue. I know that I have to charge more for the 1 in 10/20/50/75/100/500  variants that come out, but that is because they cost more to order. Are they charging more for books that have 50/50 splits ie Astonishing X-Men, Punisher WJ, etc.?

Yep.  I didn't think twice about it, because I've done a lot of international bidding (a complete set of German Shi WotW, with crossovers [missing only one Vamp/Shi variant] and an almost complete set of German WildC.A.T.S. - back when I had money).  The guy's got excellent feedback... but overseas shipping takes forever.

No you don't, trust me. Some of the hardest money I've ever had to part w/ are the 5 Antiquities, the canvas & 6 or 7 Blue foils. I still think to myself that I'm an idiot, sometimes. The most I paid was $120 for one of the canvas (includes shipping) - can't imagine having to explain to my split personalities just why a sketchbook was worth $400+.

I was completely in the dark. Never even seen it. I think Slammy told me about it via taxt.

Congrats on an awesome auction. Bit jealous.

But, the exception is, you've got a Sparky piece. He's too far outside my price range. I thought I had him talked into selling me a couple of Ill Warr'r pieces, but he wasn't ready to part w/ them yet. I'm afraid of how much they'll be by the time he's finally ready.  dunno

Oh well. Yes, thanks. I do have a nice collection. Certainly, not the best collection, but definately got some choice pieces.

For me, I know the biggest thing would be the framing and the hanging.  I couldn't see spending $400 for a book that was just going to be looked at for five minutes, then stuck in my box with everything else.  But, if it was something truly worthwhile, then that bad boy would be framed and on the wall in a second.

Not that I'd ever have $400 to spend on anything (I've got about $15000 in projects around the house to accomplish before I can get away with spending more than $100 at a time, and that only rarely), but if it was art, then it'd be worth it.  I'd love to have some of the pieces I've seen in this thread just to frame them.  My walls are so bare...

I'm with you on the framing and hanging of art.  Dawn and I had a friend do some mounting and framing and it was about $100 per 11x17 piece.  And since she was a friend trying to start a framing business she really didn't tack any labor onto it.  I nearly craped my pants when she gave us the $450 bill.  My face must have turned pale since she quickly spouted out how she used high quality UV protected glass and that she didn't tack on labor.

Sad thing was that we didn't even frame "original" work they were all $20-50 prints. (I wasn't willing to mail original stuff)

To top that Dawn and I have a 900 square foot house. We have so many commissions, litho's, posters that we could use them for wall paper and still have pieces left over after running out of wall.  crazy
