The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.

Hello everyone,
I know that I haven't been posting very much but am working hard on the new Shi mini series and treatment for the film.

I figure I give you all a little update on what I must accomplish by summer 04' and am going at it with a vengeance!

The following is our proposed Crusade product schedule for the fist half of the year.  I will submit monthly progress reports on these projects.  Please let me know what you think.

Unlike the past few years off, Shi thankfully dominates and takes top priority:

SHI JU-NEN DARK HORSE COMICS

Complete scripting the four issues of "Shi Ju-Nen #1" with JCV.
Complete four issues of pencils for  "Ju-Nen " design word balloons and colors.
Contact fashion designer Anna Sui to "dress" characters in series

Pencil and Script deadlines:
Issue One - Mid-March latest (April release)
Issue Two  - April, 28 (June release)
**Issue Three - June 30 (August release)
**Issue Four - July 20  (October release)

** Think issue Three can be complete by the end of May but will give myself an extra month for both Three and Four

As of now complete one more cover for "Ju-Nen" for Mark Sparacio to paint.

Issues Three and Four might not make the schedule because of Shi film.

SHI - THE MOTION PICTURE (Mimi Gitlin Producer)

Work on "Shi" treatment (w/Kevin Bernhardt and Mimi) have to send them an outline of new "Ghost Story" angle by  Friday morning February 20th

Write Screenplay with Kevin complete first draft by May 31st.

DARK HORSE SHI PRODUCT PLAN

Shi and Tomoe Action Figures
Get contract for new DH Shi and Tomoe Action figures (July 04' release)

Shi Sculpted Mini Bust
Image based on "Ju-Nen" #1 cover, hopefully Steve Kiwis will sculpt
But redrawn right arm and front for sculpt

Shi Four Seasons (Shi The Series #9 & 10 covers) Coasters

Art of Shi Coffee Table Book
Complete new cover and layout for "Art of Shi" (?)
Collect and get permission for all the artists who've done Shi for said book.  July release.

Meeting will also involve pitching  Comic Con International special guest status, "Victoria Cross", "Gremlin Effect" and "The Magnificent 7th Graders" (created by myself, Mark Haynes, JC Vaughn) for DH publication.

CRUSADEFINEARTS.COM/CRUSADE COLLECTABLES

Make the friggen 10th Anniversary logo for our website.

Promotions for 10th Anniversary

Work with Marie and Gina for Crusade Collectables Shi 10th Anniversary merchandise.

Put together variant editions (penciled covers) of "Ju-Nen" for Crusade Collectables.

Get "some trouble of a SeRRious nature" DVD out. (sorry for the delay, no one I know seems to know how to put a friggin DVD together)

MERCHANDISE

Get our contract and design direction complete for Ink Works new Shi Card Set (due out this summer)

Produce new 2004 Edition of Blue Box Shi Action Figure - the theme, "Tiger Baby"

Follow up and complete deal with Moore Creations to produce "Ju-Nen Porcelain Masks" (August? release)

CONVENTIONS AND TRAVEL

Portland Comic Con March 4th-8th

Wizard World Los Angeles, followed by film meetings March 18th-25th.

Motor City Comic Con May 14th-16th http://www.motorcityconventions.com/motor_city_comic_con/index.html

Mighty Mini Comic Con June 5th, 6th http://www.mightyminicon.com/  (even though OrcaFresh hasn't posted me as a guest yet!  ;D

Book Comic Con International, San Diego Ca July 21-25th http://www.comic-con.org/Pages/CCIWhatsNew.html

AVATAR
TBA

All this while also trying to get my "Gremlin Effect" script tweaked, optioned and/or financed.

In order to do this I'll have to severly cut back my duties as the Museum Director for the Aerodrome and as a member of the Bayport Civic Association, in reality I don't have time to do anything for them.

All the while trying to be the best husband and  Dad I can be!

I know I can complete all by San Diego at the latest, but am hoping for the 4th of July!  This doesn't include daily press release, solicitations for both Dark Horse and Crusade, creating and shipping products sold through website, creating ads for Previews and the DH published Shi comics.  And hopefully optioning and writing (along with Steven Peros,) the "Magnificent 7th Graders."  My agents are also getting some really good interest in "Victoria Cross."

Again, "Ju-Nen" and the Shi movie are top priority.

Onto the breach!

The reason for the extra time is that Kevin B and I also have to write the Shi screenplay.  I've got some great ideas for it.  It's a little different than WOTW but uses it as a basis and brings in some new ideas I have about Shi.  I'll post that info when I can.

That would be cool, but somehow I don't think human 'civilazation' can go without strife turfwars and territorial urges and that includes many $$$ for and less money and time for

Now pretend to be dyslexic for awhile. Double-check & triple-check your spelling. See how long it takes. My recent reply to JC took just under 2 hours...

& that's w/out smileycons. The upside, if I get into an argument w/ someone in an email or something, by the time I have double & triple-checked everything, I have calmed down enough to change anything that may be any less than  diplomatic or might be taken the wrong way.[/color]

PS My spelling can be off at times but that probably comes

:)to the fact that I am not English by birth but mere a Flying Dutchmen
:)I often type faster then I should
:)and in these forums I think it is better to get your words across then the fact that my spelling is impeccable
:)I still have a lot to learn about the correct English grammar and the way English and Americans use their words in sayings

OK??

Heya Billy & Jeffy... I see Roger Dean is going to be @ SandyCon. What d'ya think about getting him drunk & talking him into doing something for Shi? It would be way cool to see a Tucci/Dean collaberation or even Dean do a Shi rendition for a cover.
