Fox broadcasting is enraging

I've been silent on this but our defense minister commented on the gross and insulting conduct of a Fox show.
A slam against Canadian military involvement and the 116 soldiers who have died in our fight against the Taliban.
We just recieved the bodies of four more heroes back home today. This garbage is not funny in the least. We have stood with allies and paid the price of war since the early days of our country and especially since the 1900's.

Fox host apologizes for mocking of Canadian Forces
The host of an over-the-top, late-night Fox network show has apologized for any disrespect he may have caused to the Canadian military with a recent segment on his intentionally inflammatory program.

"The March 17th episode of Red Eye included a segment discussing Canada's plan for a 'synchronized break,' which was in no way an attempt to make light of troop efforts," host Greg Gutfeld said in a statement issued Monday.

"However, I realize that my words may have been misunderstood. It was not my intent to disrespect the brave men, women and families of the Canadian military, and for that I apologize.

The segment also drew criticism from Conservative author, columnist and commentator David Frum.

"The clip in question is a sequence of goofs about the feebleness, uselessness and absurdity of the Canadian armed forces. Why would I call that dumb? Here's why," Frum wrote on his New Majority.com blog last week, before listing the Canadian soldiers, aid workers and a diplomat who have been killed in Afghanistan since 2002.

"Sorry I disrespected your show, Red Eye fans, but you disrespected the dead," Frum added.

"My apologies to the Canadian military, they probably could at least beat the Belgians," Gutfeld mused in his Twitter account on Sunday.

Here's the thing.
Hardly anybody on this side of the border takes anything these guys say seriously. The fact that it's on the Fox News channel should be the 1st clue.
One of the side effects of freedom of speech is sometimes people say stupid things (see Ann Coulter). W/ over 306 million americans, that's a lot of opportunity for ridiculous statements by my fellow countrymen & myself. Add world population & just  imagine the equation. Personally, Gutfeld isn't worth the effort to be upset over. Really. He's not. His views aren't the views of most americans who do any research. & apparently, even Frum is prone to stupid statements if your quotes are accurate. He accuses the fans of Gutfeld's show of disrespecting the dead instead of Gutfeld himself. (which may have happened, but based one what's quoted, isn't evident)

There's no need to stay silent. Exercise your freedom of speech.
