Posting this for Jay Co. Hey Everyone- This week the Comic Con International kicks off in San Diego. And this show is unlike any other in history. It’s not because it’s the largest of its kind. Or that the attendance will shatter all previous records. Or that just about every film star and media darling will make their latest announcements here… For us, the real difference is what is going to be missing from the convention- MICHAEL TURNER. Surely you’ve heard the tragic news as reported on sites such as Newsarama.com or Comicbookresources.com, or the various message boards. For us, it’s really hit hard. JayCompanyComics started doing the convention circuit right when Witchblade launched. We made sure we represented our then fledgling business to just about EVERY show Mike attended- from Los Angeles to Charlotte, Phoenix to Orlando, Pittsburgh to Seattle, San Francisco to Philadelphia, Chicago to San Diego… JayCompanyComics.com cannot express anything new what hasn’t been said about the greatness of Mike Turner. Seeing his friendly smile, and his constant enthusiasm made it feel great to be in business with this Giant of the Comics industry. We will always be thankful for the time, care, and compassion of Mike… If you guys are coming out to the San Diego show, there will be a special MICHAEL TURNER panel presented by ASPEN on Sunday July 27. From Top Cow Top Cow will set up shop at Booth #2329 and heads into the convention with exclusives, preview books, free goodies and a long list of guests, headlined by Top Cow CEO and founder Marc Silvestri (Witchblade, The Darkness, Cyberforce), artist J.G. Jones (Wanted) and writer Paul Dini (Madame Mirage).
Actor and producer Seth Green (Robot Chicken, Family Guy) and writer Hugh Sterbakov will be on hand to sign copies of their new Freshmen comic, Freshmen: Summer Vacation Special and the new Vol. 1 hardcover. During their signing (see schedule below), they will be joined by renowned sculptor Clayburn Moore to premiere the prototype of the Nightmare Puppeteer Torso Statue, based on the lead female Freshmen character.The creators behind Broken Trinity, Top Cow’s big summer event that will have far-reaching consequences on the Top Cow Universe, will also be at the show. Writer Ron Marz (Witchblade, Samurai: Heaven and Earth), layout artist Phil Hester (and current writer on The Darkness) and artist Stjepan Sejic (Witchblade) will sign copies of Broken Trinity #1, which features an exclusive variant cover by Sejic. Hester’s partner on The Darkness, artist Michael Broussard (Unholy Union),will also be available for autographs and sketches.
Top Cow will also present a panel on Saturday, July 26 from 3 – 4 p.m. in Room 2 of the Convention Center, where attendees can hear exciting announcements about recent film developments and upcoming publishing plans, including new projects from top creators. Fans should note that because of anticipated crowding issues, select artists will only be able to do a limited amount of free sketches per sitting. Kiki is here as well. Im sure he will do his report when he gets back home.
Got my Jim Balent commission art which i will post when i get home. Debating to get some artwork done by buzz and bill maus today. Have to see how far behind they are. Then probably get some more art off billy by weekends deal. So kiki will have photos of stuff. Since the battery on my camera died. Stupid mistake to forget my charger. Boy im stuppppid.
But other then that. Still alive.

hopefully in 2 or 3 yrs tj and i finally make it out to that one!! Next year we are going to florida so I dont know about cons next year

Hey guys,
We're back after a great convention (our best since 1998!) and it seems everyone's happy with Sgt. Rock and that my new Shi series comes out next year. I'll blog about our crazy trip home, but want to thank Kiki, Roy and Chet for such a great, great time and all their help in breaking down. We usually hold a Chinese dinner but because of William's birthday we had to leave Sunday night (well, that was the plan then cam our flight problems -- more on this tonight)! The picture of the model is a funny story as Maxum was trying to take a picture of me when she stepped in front! :)
