Okay, how about Carol Chen then. Seems kind of Shi-ish in this photo.

Googled her, and the looks are good, but can she act?
May I suggest Valerie Tian? Saw her in "Drillbit Taylor", and know she was also in "Juno", so she can act as well as look good.

that is not always true, some may not see the movie because they don't know the actress, sometimes in the film industry an actor/actress's name can be a breaking point for the film/actors/actresses/directors or writters second point she is from Thailand which if Billy can get his way, she wouldn't work because Ana/Shi is Japenese/American third her name means Lotus in Thai

I think Ashley listed below looks very Shi-ish. She is half Asian and half Anglo and looks like Shi. In fact I think she might be the one considering how young she is. It matches the character in the comic. http://signup.onemodelplace.com/model_list.cfm?ID=297178

I looked at her site. She is gorgeous and very muscular. I wonder what SHI would look like with a navel piercing.

I wonder what SHI would look like with a navel piercing I think the belly bling is removeable so that the lint can be cleaned off of it etc................. I would like to see Ashley in the Shi makeup and costume just to see how close she comes to the character. I think she would be pretty close.

No acting skills.
Just choosing a film Shi based on looks would be a major mistake.

Just going off her bio sheet from the link provided.
Heck, I'm ready for anyone to take the role and get it put on the big screen.

Heck, I'm ready for anyone to take the role and get it put on the big screen. So if that is true than you have no problem with Ashley doing the part. I saw the Chinese girl in the film "The Eye", the original chinese version. She is a good actress but seems to skinny for he role of Shi. But also I would quote your own previous comment: second point she is from Thailand which if Billy can get his way, she wouldn't work because Ana/Shi is Japenese/American So since Isabella Leon is half Chinese and not Japanese than that would disqualify her according to that previous comment.

Okay, so I've been caught. There are certain actresses that I would not want to play Ana. She should be half oriental, half "caucasian American" looking at least. The age of the actress should be somewhere under 30, depending on the final story, maybe even a teenager or early 20s. I really am giving up hope of ever seeing this character on the big screen as a major lead type figure.

I really am giving up hope of ever seeing this character on the big screen as a major lead type figure. I believe it can still happen. It is important though to see that super heroes such as Spiderman, Batman, Iron Man, The Hulk, The X-Men have succeeded for the most part due to the fact they have huge budgets, can recruit popular actors and actresses, directors, etc. The Marvel Universe and the DC Universe have been around for a very long time so the audience has familiarity with the characters regardless of the age demographic. But is seems to be the male super heroes that have been the most successful. Looking at the female spectrum we had an Academy Award winner Halle Berry portray Catwoman. The movie stunk to high heaven, it was awful. You had Academy Award winner Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux and that movie was mediocre as well. They're were rumors that Wonder Woman was being made but the first director Joss Whedon, of Buffy the Vampire fame, left the project and the movie seems to be in eternal preproduction hell because they can't seem to find a Wonder Woman. Also I think the character is just not that interesting. Marvel was also going to produce The Black Widow but it too went into preproduction hell. I doubt it gets made. So Shi, according to Wikipedia has only existed since 1993, is an independent label, and the character is not as recognizable as the Marvel and DC universe characters. Also Shi is part Asian and there is only a handful of Asian characters on the tv much less film. So there are some huge obstacles to overcome because the money people who produce films don't want to take a gamble on a lesser know commodity. I still think the film will get made one day.
