Now in the 8th class of the doctorate out of 17. Got a visit from our friend from St. Louis this evening. It was a great time showing the collection and talking about SHI.

I had a great time visiting. I hope that you enjoyed the gift I brought as much as I enjoy the gift you gave me. I showed the one to some of the people taking Art merit badge and they were blown away. I just wish I had had more time, but I had to get back to camp and get my Red Cross certification on CPR/AED. As it was, two accidents on the highways stretched my drive out to almost an hour and a half to cover the 50 miles I traveled. I just made the start of the class.
For everyone out there who hasn't met Joe, he is one class act and enjoys his art as much as anyone I have ever met. Although I didn't get to spend more than a few minutes with Julie, I can tell that Joe is very lucky to have her in his life.
I hope to meet more of you in the near future. It is always great to find someone else who has passion for the same things you do, and I love to talk comics and art.

...now in my 9th out of 17 doctorate level classes.
...2 daughters are back in college - one is a sophomore and one is a junior.
...wife had surgery for her hand c. tunnel issue and is now using it fully with no problems
...bought my 13th Jade ashcan - only 50 made, not sure why I decided to try to collect as many of the 50 as possible that would be a good movie character from the old Chaos characters

1) That means over half done. Good going Joe. 2) Two girls in college. Only met the one briefly, but can say she's a very lovely young lady. 3) Glad to hear that Julie's doing well. I wish I had had more time to visit with you both this summer. 4) Sometimes we get started doing something for no reason at all and continue to do it out of force of habit. It seems to be a harmless pursuit!
Enjoy the holiday weekend.

...Hurricane blasted Louisville pretty good ...down trees...no power...no hot water ...could be 1-10 more days before power is restored (we are on 2 days now without power)
We were traveling through the 75+ MPH winds on Sunday and saw 2 transformers blow up with sparks flying everywhere and felt a shock wave from it.
My truck weighs 5,000 lbs and it was being shoved around in the wind.
I will keep you posted.

Dude! Sorry to hear about that & glad you're ok! I've been sort of out of touch for a week working down in PR. No mention of the storms in the Midwest, just Texas.

The Comic Museum is no longer operating. I copied the whole web site down to my pc before letting it go. I stopped collecting SHI comics for now and only concentrating on artwork collection. Sgt. Rock series looks awesome. This is probably the only series where a variant of just pencils would be just as good as color, due to Billy's detailed work on them.

Sorry to hear your Comic Museum closed. It was a good source of info. Maybe you'll get interested in collecting Shi comics again if some new stuff comes out. I personally would like to see some new lithographs, along with some new issues of course!

Update: Now in the course prior to dissertation proposal. It is called comprehensive exams. More like "Can you write a research paper?" Update: One child a Junior in college, the other quit and works at Subway. No ambition there. Will be downsizing the old homestead soon. Putting up with a realtor tomorrow. Update: Now have a dog named PEPE. Update: Working at Seven Counties Services. Got a new job August 31st of last year. Update: Now an iPhone user. Update: Picked up a Tucci page featuring the twins (my favorite SHI characters other than SHI and TOMOE) Update: Have one of the best JADE (Chaos not DC) collections in the world now Update: Completed all of the German Gen13 issues over the last 2 years, including all variants

Good to hear that you're still going!
1) I've been told I could write and defend at least three different dissertations easily. Don't want to spend 4 years to get to that point, and Masters degree is worthless to me. 2) Good luck with the Subway child. I remember from the photos around your place (and I think I met one of your girls) they both are pretty young ladies. Hope the ambition sets in after a couple of months of making sandwiches. Then again, she may be one of those who end up running the store. My son is entering his high school seinor year with ambitions of going to college to become an English or Journalism teacher. 3) Been working for almost 3 months now at Virbac Animal Health, an animal pharmaceutical company. Still learning the job, but a lot of what I am going to be doing hasn't really been decided yet. 4) Need a new phone & service myself. Just want one that will make calls. No text, no internet, maybe serves as mp3 player. 5) Sweet. The twins were fun and dangerous. Enjoy the piece. 6&7) Everyone needs a chance to be a completist. Good going.

Cool updates, guys.
1. Can't afford to give up job & relocate for school, so I've been buying & reading the $150-250 text books. I figure, why cram when I finally CAN do it. Learn NOW. Keep up w/ the changing science. Sure, I can do online, but not in the field of science that I want. 2. Key question. Are both children happy w/ their current paths? I can't knock anybody if they are happy working @ subway. I've had the money, lost the money & blew the money. Wasn't really happy earning it. 3. Congrats to both of u. 4. Have a Bberry Curve & an iTouch. Don't really have music on the iTouch. More like 1,200 music videos, 200+ astronomy lectures, 100+ religion/culture videos & about 20 movies. Slammy has the new Droid & it sounds promising. 5. Very Cool. Love the twins! I just got a piece from Ju-nen where the scene is grandpa on stage w/ his naginata. 6&7) Congrats ! Not ashamed to admit it (well, maybe a little), just started reading Charmed issues.

Great Updates and good to see you back around Joe. As for me: 1) I have been writing comics and just starting working on becoming a colorist for books as well. I have had some talks with one of the big two about some projects, so hopefully something in that arena will open up soon. 2) We have a nine year old and a one and a half year old. I have keeping an eye on them while my wife runs her fitness studio. 3) Still using an Iphone 3G. Our nine year old has a 3GS and the wife has a 4. 4) I am still downsizing my collection and what remains of the store stock (yes there are still about 3000 books left of the 100,000) In the course of selling it off, I have come across some cool stuff that I am keeping, like an Eisner Spirit sketch from 1976. 5) Best of luck, and I am still collecting ashcans to send to you once I get some more.

Well, I haven't posted on here for a while, so I'll do one of these updates. 1) Right now I'm a full time student at a technical college studying Phlebotomy. I hope to work in a lab down the road. 2) Just got a new dog a couple of months ago. She's a beagle mix. 3) I don't have an iPhone but I have an 3rd Generation iTouch ipod I love. 4) I've been more into collecting comic art than actual comics. My best piece so far is a Spiderman and Storm Marvel team-up cover by Randy Green.
Nice to hear what people are up to. Awesome to hear about your comic book work Toronoshi. I've always wanted some art with the twins, Joe. Nice to hear you're working a new job, pctchuck. Always good to read about what you're up Delvie.
That's my tow cents.
