Post comments about the convention.

From JSNIDERFAMILY:
Missed having Scott to bum around with.  Took my daughter and her boyfriend.  They loved it.
Saw Billy and Mark there.  Mark showed me some progresss on a TWINS commission he said would be done for Baltimore.  (TWINS, GUNS, SHI LOGO, TATTOES, more skin than usual to show off the tats)
Bought a couple of prints from Mark the TILA TEQUILA artist.  Saw Darryl O'Riley and Scott Rosema and Lou Ferrigno.
RAK the artist was selling little color copies in card holders of charicatures of all your favorites.  He was making a killing on that technique. $1 each.  He had a vendor booth and was doing quite well.  Billy and Mark were stuck in no man's land and were not doing as well as they wished.  I saw Sherrie (SLLAMKY01 knows who she is) who draws mostly fairy items but she did a wonderful Captain Jack Sparrow original pencil piece (I wanted it so badly).
Crowds were crazy - not like S.D. but close.

RAK's one of those interesting artists.  He is (or, more specifically, his associates are) set up and selling at every convention and show, big or small, in the midwest.  I have two or three of the RAK cards lying around somewhere in my collection - a Lion-O, an Optimus Prime, and possibly something else.  My wife has a few buttons with some of his horror pieces like Pinhead.  All-in-all, they're fun because they're cariacatures of cartoon and comic characters, which is pretty funny.  I've seen better art, but for a-buck-a-print it's a cute way to get the art out there.  I also give him credit for having such a broad range of subject matter in stock.  When you literally have something for everyone, it's easy to snag a dollar or two out of everyone who walks by.

Maybe outdated but still look pretty amusing. Big head wolverine. ha ha

And is there a con Lou doesnt do. Even from a distance well right across from billys booth kinda. His arms still look like they crush someones head like a grape.

I haven't.  Not sure I would, either.  I find his art amusing and gimmicky, which isn't really my thing.  Except, of course, for the few buck-a-prints I own.

He'll probably be set up at the Mid-Ohio con in November - I'll ask about it.

Billy and Mark were in nomads land that was for sure!  We hung out and watched Billy's spot a few times for him while he created anarchy at the con.  We missed seeing Scott and Joe, but it was nice to see Billy and Sparky along with seeing Crystal and Rick again at the Con.  Saw and hung with Bruce when we went to have drinks with Billy that night.  I felt that the con this year was smaller and empty, it wasnt as pacekd as it has been in the past.  When we get back to WI I will take a pic of the sketches I got from Billy and the one from Joe Beintz.

Well thanks to UPS I missed the entire show except Sunday. Hung out and talked to Billy and Mark for awhile and then made my way around the show looking for Don Kramer. Did not find him until I ran into him at Jamal Igle's booth. I picked up a bunch of sketch cards as shown in the sketch section. I think Billy's Sgt. Rock is the best of the lot. They are going to look great in the shop. I also ran into josh(jwarner) at his booth. I will see more of everyone in Baltimore since I will not have to worry about shop matters.

I don't, but if I catch him at Mid-Ohio in November I'll certainly try.

Cool. How much does he charge non-con for the card commission. I went to his website & saw the $20-$40 just for prints & thought, 'well, maybe after I win a lottery'.

Loved the Shi by RAK.  At the price that Joe posted, he should be busy for a while.
