Hello, Flerk the computer idiot here, I was wondering how I would post pictures on the forum. Frank going off to Italy reminded me of all the pictures I took in Hong Kong and Beijing that I thought you folks may like.
I am on a Mac, and am fairly dense, so be gentle.
I tried the image icon on the posting place and dragged a picture in-between the [img] places but nothing came up.

when you post a reply here (or a topic) there is a nice little button (hidden between the Italic/Bold and other buttons) that leds you put the URL between [img] tags.
it is easy

Here it is: This will be over simplified in case anyone who comes here needs all the details. I'm not assuming you do, but somewhere down the line, someone will but will be too afraid to ask. - Do you have an image scanned?
- Save it to your hard drive.
- Go to Photobucket.com & open a free account
- To add picture, click "Browse"
- A screen will open titled "File Upload"
- Search your hard drive for your pic
- Highlight your pic & click "Open"
- Click the button titled "submit"
- Directly underneath your newly added pic are 3 boxes each containing urls... you want the top one (labeled "url")
- Click your cursor into the box
- The url contained in the box will automatically highlight
- Hold down "Ctrl" key while pressing "C" key or right click mouse & copy
- Bring the url here & either type in [ img ] [ /img ] placing your url in between the "][" brackets or click the 4th box towards the right on the second row of icons (that looks like a framed picture) on the "post reply" page
- If you use the image icon on the "post reply" page, just replace "URL" w/ your url.
- The finished product should look like this:
before posting> [ img ]http://img31.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Delvie/th_Ju_Nen_Remix.jpg[ /img ] after posting> ps. if posting a pic on myspace, you'll need to use these tags <img src=" http://img31.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Delvie/th_Ju_Nen_Remix.jpg "> [/list]

Something like that. Hey, I recorded another show for you guys (& me) last night. It's called "ancient monster hunters." It's about the tracking down of mythological monsters & heroes of the ancient world such as the gryphon & hercules, etc & how the legends were likely based on dinosaur fossils found in that area. It shows which dinosaur skeletons were probably mistaken for which monster or hero.

I got this from the help section http://photobucket.com/faq?catID=55My images take a long time to upload - or never upload at all! > Try uploading smaller images. This does not mean you must crop your images, rather be aware of the file size of them. Uploading images larger than our limit (1024 x 768 Pixels for Free accounts, 2048 x 1536 Pixels for Pro accounts) only to have them automatically resized can also contribute to slowness when you are uploading.
If your account is at the upper limit for disc space, you may not be able to upload any additional images until you delete some of the current images. There must be enough space left for the full image size of the new images. You can view your current usage in your Account Options.
Clear your browser's cache.
Please ensure there are no punctuation marks, symbols or spaces in the name of the image you are trying to upload.

Thanks again.
So, my pictures are too big. I have to find a way to make them smaller.
I would think that I could just take them from my iPhoto prgram and just cram the dang things on a page and presto! That's why I'm the resident computer idiot, don'cha know.

When you're choosing files to upload to Photobucket, there's a tiny "Options" link right above the first "Browse" button. Clicking that will give you a number of options to choose from for automatic resizing of the picture as it uploads; you don't need an external program to do it at all. The size you choose will stay that way for all pictures you upload until you change it.

Wow thanks Nishiko. I never knew that fact. now the next thing you should consider is what size. my recommendation is no wider than 700 pixel. it dose not matter how high the photo is, but 700 with photos work well (IMHO)

THANKS EVERYONE FOR PATIENTLY PUTTING UP YOUR HOW TOO'S ON HOW TO POST PIX! I figured it out after having a little free time and going through it. THe big hurdle was figuring out that I needed to export the pix to a separate file on my harddrive and go from there. Any way, here are a few pictures from Hong Kong and Beijing. Po Lin Monastery on Lantau island off of Hong Kong. I stayed in a hostel and got up at the chiming of the monastery bells and got this picture with no one around, which is unusual for this place. It is a "destination". And yes that buddha in the background is huge. Built by three monks.

On top of the Great Wall. You are considered a national hero if you make it to the top of the wall. It was unusual that there was snow, we were told we were lucky to have seen it. Even though it was freezing.

I was in Hong Kong performing in their International Arts Festival. Believe it or not, we were performing 1984. I kept thinking we were all going to be taken off to the gulag. But Hong Kong is still very independent and very resentful of being taken over by the mainland. Having us kick off the festival was a little bit of a thumb to the nose of the mainland.
I wasn't that crazy about Hong Kong. It is just another huge city, about 1% of it is original, everything is new. I then went to Lantau Island, just off the main island, and stayed at a Hostel beside the Po Lin Monastery. It is now a bit of a tourist destination, because they have a sky tram that goes up to it from one side of the island to the other. But it all shuts down at sundown. I was quite alone with the monks. There was only one other person at the Hostel, a gal from Chicago. The Hostel's compound is surrounded by barbed wire and is securely locked after 10. I took a walk to this Installation of Chinese caligraphy etched in these huge trees hewn in half and formed in a figure eight: the symbol of infinity. The caligraphy is of the HEART SUTRA. One of the hardest things for westerners to comprehend, the idea of having an empty heart, empty like a cup, bowl or bell, that energy may flow in and out without being constrained and held which causes stagnation, anger, jealousy.
I'll post a pick of the formation it is very impressive. I walked there in the pitch black thinking about how tigers used to live on the mountain up until a generation ago. When I reached the formation, the sky gave it enough light to see and it was quite serene, with an air of the spooky.
I then went to Beijing and stuck around there.
Went to the Great Wall, The Forbidden City, Tiananen Square. The markets, The White Cloud Temple (Taoist), the Lamasary(Tibetan, with the largest buddha made from a single tree). The Summer Palace, some of the tombs (can't remember which ones). The Temple of Heaven. And I ate some great food.
THe highlight really was the people.
Two of my coaches hooked me up with their friends and teachers in Beijing. One of them volunteered himself to be my guide. He took me to all the places I spoke of above.
Mr. Hao is a pretty remarkable fella. He is in his sixties, and is the governmental official of Tai Chi. He taught me a simple Tai Chi Chuan form in the Wu style, who was his teacher. (A man who lived into his hundreds and died because he slipped and fell out of bed.) Mr. Hao is also seventh ranked in the world. In our lessons, we talked about the Tao Te Ching, (Which I have been reading for the past 25 years) He was very impressed that I had a dogg eared copy that I keep on my bedstand and was handily beside me when we began to talk about the book.
I had never known this, but Tai Chi came into being from Taoist practitioners who found that while studying the book, they found they were compelled to move in a flowing manner. So, Tai Chi is the physical manifestation of the Tao Te Ching.
I have to go, but want to finish the story.

Interesting. My new supervisor and a new coworker are both Chinese. I hope to get to spend some time knowing a bit about their background and homeland, instead of spending all our time together trying to learn pharmacology terms, practices, and theory.

I can't wait till Cali and I are able to get the money together so we can go with our SiTi Gung Wilson (Grandmaster) to China. He is going March in 2008 again, but there is no way we can cough up the money for both of us to go along with Cali getting vacation time.
It would cost us around $8000 for us to go with SiTi Gung Wilson, he along with a tour guide shows us around and the big thing is we actually meet and train with the Shaolin Monks for a few days. And usually the group goes out to the parks and does the Tai Chi with them in the parks.
I actually love Tai Chi that is what I am practicing while the other 3 are training in Kenpo. But with issues on the home front and not feeling well, I havent been going to class, but I do practice at home and at work at times (depends how crazy my day is at the church and school, about a week ago i was doing my breathing and meditating after a kid got hurt at school)

I love extravagant architecture, so Hong Kong has a little bit I'd like to see. The Lippo Center, Jardine House, HSBC Building, etc. Also, I'd love to see the Bruce Lee monument, Clock Tower, Statue Square and several of the local temples of Hong Kong & Kowloon (Man Mo, etc). The History, Space & Art museums are calling my name, too.
You walked the Path Of Wisdom? JERK! J/K! Man! AND you got to see the Tian Tan Buddha & The Immortals! ACK!
I could go on about the rest of the places you visited, but it would pretty much look like what I just rambled. Mr. Hao sounds like cool people, though.
Being an actor, did you check out Avenue of the Stars while you were in Hong Kong?
