They are like Comic Size and they give them out at the Marvel booth. DC had some of their own to at their booth but they looked a little delicate compared to Marvel plus i always was requestign Marvel characters so it wouldn't have went well. As for Betty & Veronica, hot and cheap always!

Hey Guys! How'ya all doin. Billy if you're reading hope you are enjoying Florida and sorry you had to miss my li'l bash and the Big Apple Con. The Con sucked, cuase my previous mentor Guy Gilchrist did not make it to the show. So I ended up meeting Jerky Boy Johnny B. and finally got to meet Jason Mewes. "snootchie bootchies!!!Anyways Meredith will be taking me to Mickey Mantle's (my favorite place) tonight for the big 2-6 and only 4 away from the big 3-0. And well she'll take me to see the Hulk on Friday! I hope Mantle's will not be full it's always my luck my b-day always seemed to fall on a day a local team was in the Stanley cup.

Happy B-day Frank!! that is cool you met him, lol i tripped him a few years back on accident while waiting for tj at the TC booth when Nate was 2 at chicago, didnt recognize him cause his hear was long and it didnt click until i heard the to guys chasing him and yelling at him "jay wait can we get a pic and autograph" of course i was trying to say sorry but before i got that out he was out of the front gates of the con. As tj will admit i have a wonderful talent of tripping or bumping into stars and i dont realize it. lol

Hey I just got back from a Norwegian cruise from NYC to Bermuda with Meredith as we celebrated 1 year together. Plus my mandatory vacation cause the Jewelry store was closed down for the week. The cruise was awesome! Bermuda was alright but it was just an added bonused. I've been sunpoisoned bad though. Back to work tomorrow.

When I was on the cruise as i realex and left bermuda I started drawing a Hot Storm sketch. It felt so good to get back to drawing, last week I was gonna make my little cousin a nice Hulk sketch. next thing i sed let me throw Iron Man on it. there was still empty space so i threw Spider-Man in it. Then I sed to myself it's one of my best hero sketches to just give it up. So I kept it.

Yesterday, morning I was watching the morning news and found that tattoo artist / celeb Kat Von D was gonna be on the show. Which meant to me that she was gonna be in NY. I've been a fan of Von D's when i saw her on Miami Ink (she was the only reason I watched the show). Then when she got her own show with a cast of way better artists than those jerks from Miami, I got addicted to the show. So I was at work yesterday and I looked at the MySpace Bulletins and Kat posted a bulletin sayin she was gonna be in NY that day at a Sephora to promote her new makeup kit, and would be signign autograpsh and taking pics. I was totally beside myself cause 1. the signing was in Manhattan from 5-7pm and I work in Staten Island till 6pm and 2. I didn't have a camera on me except a crummy cell phone. So I ended up begging the VP if i could leave early and he sed I could since I was way ahead and that July is a dead month for our business. So then I hopped a train to the ferry and an manhattan express train which brought me to Sephora at approximately 5:40 PM. Line looked decent but i didnt realize it was that long. They cut the line minutes later starting from like 8 people behind me. So I thought good we're safe and I heard that Kat was gonna sign for all of us. About 7:10pm we're liek 2 stores away cops and security tells us that she signing anymore autograpsh or takin anymore pics. So i totally lost it I mean I left work and came all the way to the city for nuthing. So i decided me and the person next to me would hang out in the store and pretend to browse around and maybe snag a quick autograph/and or picture. I figured I had nothing to lose cause Meredith woulve gotten off the train nearby after she finished nightclass. So i waited by the steps waited waited waited while kat sighend for th epeopel they let up. And we kept begging th eguys to lets us up and we were giving them dramatic stories and stuff. I did ask if it was possible if Kat could sign a few extra 8 X10 that they can give to us. It actually worked!!!! However I was still not fully satisfied with just 2 autographs (I snatched another ) I wanted to meet Kat and if i'm lucky get a picture with her. So after waiting almost 80 minutes they finally decide to let me and 7 others upstairs to meet Kat. ALLELULIAH!!!!! So I got to meet Kat finally and thanks to making a deal of taking a picture for the guy next to me in return took a pic for me..... Managed to get oen of my autogrpahs personalized, And she was really really sweet and beautiful. She is someones who obviously cared for her fans and she loved my KISS ARMY shirt. Speaking of which I felt like I started the Kat Von D Army how we fought for our right to meet her.

Pretty awesome that you got to meet someone you appreciate so much, Frankster. I'm sure the fact that you put so much effort in to it made it an even greater experience. I don't know much about her, but I've liked what I've seen of her (and her work) on various TV shows.

Being presistant paid off for you. Congrats on getting to meet Kat.
I feel sorry for your cousin who didn't get the Hulk drawing you did. You're right, it is one of your better pieces! Nice job, and make it up to the cousin somehow.

Thanks for the compliments on the sketch, but don't worry he never knew he was getting it. If it was going to stay at my uncles in PA i definitely would've given it to him. But knowing him he'd wanna take it home to his mom (my ex-aunt) in Florida so frankly I don't trust that

Hey everyone, ever since that awesome Hulk sketch I finally got back into occassional drawing after buying and 11X14 pad (drawing to big is my weakness). So i already kicked off a few and I will show you what I've done as of late however I may require a bigger scanner.
I went to Atlantic City last weekend to see Tom Jones (yes well my unusual tastes have not suprised many...remember the Abba incident). Show was awesome. Well I'll keep yas updated. I got a Lion Dance with my Kung-Fu class saturday, lata!

Cool. I like Tom Jones. Being a Trance/Techno fan, I've always wished somebody would trance up some Tom Jones & Neil Diamond.
Kudos on the opportunity to participate in the Lion Dance.
Try scanning each end of the 11"x14" & then mending them together in a photo/art program. That's what I do w/ all my large pieces.

In a world without Heroes, Is like a world without sun, you can't look up to anyone without heroes. -Gene Simmons It saddens me whenever we have to lose a hero. Two months ago I lost my great-uncle John who was a World War II hero. And weeks later it hit me when I found out Mike Turner died especially finding it out a week after it happened. I tried my absolute best on his likeness at that size. And yes the sun around is implying a saint halo, cause lets face it he's definitley up in heaven. Yesterday while drawing this I stumbled upon JT Krulls tribute cover by sheer coincidence, I pretty much had the idea for weeks, but however he didnt draw in Mike in his pic.

Very nice and touching piece Frank. Everytime I see a drawing by Turner, I feel a sense of sadness. He was also an inspiration to me. I have a few drawings in sketchbooks that some people would call "swipes" and others would call "studies". He did have a very different style than most. I really enjoyed his work on female eyes the most. Thankfully he left behind a portfolio of work that will continue to inspire.

Nice and touching Frank. I think the inspiration helped your art.
I never met Mr. Turner, but he was kind enough to sign some Aspen cards through the mail for me. I enjoyed his work over the years.
