I watched Chen Kaige's movie The Promise which had some great cinematography in parts, lousy special effects (CGI) in others. The story was disjointed as well and some parts were just plain stupid and make you laugh. It had an international cast comprised of Korean, Japanse, and Chinese cast members. Parts of it were entertaining, but it is a flawed product. China's most expensive film was a critical flop. Anyone else watch this?
