Perhaps my lack of sleep today is making me overly sensitive, but did you need to call my opinion "lame"?

If she were to "buff" up before filming I thought she would be a good choice. Did you even read my post? I was agreeing with you, after seeing the full body picture you posted I felt she didn't have enough muscle which is why I said she would blow away in the wind. If you want I could take pictures of my 13 year old who has more leg muscle tone after being in martial arts for over a year now. As a martial arts practioner I feel that my visual experiences lends me the ability to know. You might not like my opinion and thoughts, but that's not a reason to call me and my thoughts "lame". As I tell my 7 year old. Grow up.

I am not trying to get to you, merely pointing out the obvious. Any actress can go through a training regimen to prepare for a role and they often do. So if that is the case, then your argument that someone lacks the tone or whatever does not hold water or it's lame in my opinion . I did not say it to offend, I said it because it is true. If you disagree with my three picks for the role, then post three of your own. I bet it will be tough, America is pretty hard on Asian Actresses and to find one that is hapa or mixed is darn near impossible. I have tried, but haven't had much success. In fact my three candidates are all foreigners.

Kelly Hu is gorgeous, however she is too old for the role. If you remember Billy said she was not considered for the part by the production company because of her age although she was Billy's choice. They wanted Shi to be younger, in the twenties, to be precise. Kelly Hu looks fantastic, but because of her age, 39 years old, she would not fit into the age demographic of who they think the target market of the picture will be which are mainly teenagers and younger people. Kelly Hu looks better then most teens and people in there twenties or  early thirties.

 I just got off the phone with Mimi and she has some pretty ecouraging news about the movie , but I'll post more info when I get it.  There's talk of a hiring Rinko Kikuchi, an actress in the new Brad Pitt film, "Babel."  The good news is that she's in tight with Japanese financiers who want a Japanese actress to play the part!  Also, half the film must be shot in Japan.  Mimi wants it to be "Crouching Tiger..." meets "Underworld."  So I'm cool with that.   Sonya Couling is indeed great but what do you guys think of  Natassia Malthe?  This is just physical of course, but she's got a very elegant look to her.

Rinko Kikuchi, I think would be good because she has the Japanese lines and the financing to help back the film.

The other lady, Natassia, doesn't have the right look. She looks kind of like a bad girl so she might be better as Tomoe.

Sonya still would be my pick over the two just on physical appearance only.

Mimi could screen test all of them to see how they perform in the role as well as others mentioned here.
