I really want to know more about that festival. Any chance you are going to post any more about it? I was thinking you only were allowed to be there by invitation until I remembered I was thinking about a viking festival in the shetlands.
Well besides the 16 some pics I have up in the link above and the videos in the links above I do have about 100 more pics a few more small videos.
Its located way up in Northern Japan in the prefecture called Yamagata in a city called Yonezawa town, Its a 5 day festival from April 29th to the 3rd of May ( this time of year is big holiday for Japan called Golden week)
the first day is a traditional Japanese parade with Yukatas and kimonos and people dancing and playing drums.
The second day is the Samurai Ritual that is performed before battle
the third day is a festival with food and events around the big shrine and temple in town
the fourth day is some more events
and the last day, the 5th day, starts with a small parade a 9am
then a bigger parade about 10:45 am
then in the afternoon is the big reenactment at 2pm
it last about a hour and a half
its open to everyone but its packed to the hilt with people so I made seat reservations way early and I am glad I did.
It was a unforgettable experience
as far as the history of the battle the second video has a english explanation in it so you can hear what its about and all of that cool history information
what else would you like to know?
I love to talk about it just dont know what people want to know
