Dawn, thanks for being good parents. I am gearing up for a big battle with my 14yo. He has set up his own Myspace site without our permission, and it was his cousin who showed him how to do it. He's been pretty sneaky, but his old man has a few tricks up his sleeve as well.

Going back to school to get my Doctorate degree. It will be a D.B.A. or Doctorate of Business Administration.
That's pretty darn awesome! I'm having a hard time just getting re-started in school myself (finished high school at 16, spent 12 years working, and just started going to a local comm. college for a cert in Business Managment)... I couldn't even imagine keeping with it as far as a doctorate. Going to take me 4 years of part-time study just to get the certificate! Good Luck!!

I am thinking about training methods for Microsoft Excel - I have a new way of teaching it to people involving clear useful projects like a consultant might do for a company vs just certification training of loads of material and marketing fluff.

WHOOPS!shanobi warrior been bad?She was MIA for 3 hours yesterday without a phone call to either parent, we were both scared out of our minds and only thought the worst! I had a friend in South Carolina where his daughter in high school joined a gang for 3 days and found out life at home was not so bad when they wanted her to kill someone. She did not do it, thank goodness. She never gave any trouble after that experience.

I disdain gangs, so don't misunderstand me, but if she was in & out in 3 days... it was a click, not a gang.

The 3 days was after about 18 months hanging with them. The 3 days was supposedly initiation and proof she could stay in it.

pctchuck you could do what my sons mom did. she got on his friends list. and pretened to be a younger girl and spied on him. all thru High school. the hardest thing she said was when she would find out something on myspace. not tipping her hand that she knew about it. she would have to wait till he sliped up and said something then she would act as if she just figgured out something and bust him.

My daughter had one and I told her up front if she had one I was going to too and I had to be on her friend list. Then she did a second one but it was some friends profiles that got her banned, but now that she has seen a lot on the child pedafilers she is glad she is off it! I treat her like an adult, it is a trial with her but we are getting through slowly even though it feels like we aren't.

After 18 mnths hanging w/ them, you'ld think she'ld be smart enough to know what to expect. They're pretty transparent.

J. Snider, Phud
Even though I work with a lot of PhDs daily, most don't want to be called "doctor" unless they are in a Umiversity setting.
