...looking forward to Motor City.

...I have 3 teaching assignments and will be doing several 1 hour Excel training courses at my work over the next couple of months.  Busy time.  I like it though.
I will show the Excel game in the advanced programming course.

...Derby is next weekend.  We have a neighborhood get-together and it is a ball.  This year it will not be woman's lawnmower races - it will be lawnmower polo using croquet mallets and balls.  We have to have them all serviced after the women get on them.  (sexist remark alert!)

What could be more fun than watching women ride around on lawn mowers using clubs to wack balls around a field?  Are they cutting the grass at the same time, ya know, killing two birds with one stone?  Sounds like you have a good time.  Any early predictions on the Derby?

What was funny is the level of competition once they get going.  Beforehand it is all "I am not competitive.".
We cut the yards and lay out a course.  It is a lot of fun.

1st off: don't you hate moments when you tell a joke & you are the only one laughing because you are the only one who gets it?

2ndly: Emo is Diet Goth. A group of spoiled white teens from middle class families who live in the suburbs that manage to find problems in their privelaged life.
emotional, unenthusiastic, melodramatic, deeply self-questioning, often revolting against their interpretation of life by starving themselves to anorexia or cutting themselves. Sadly, emo is considered cool these days.

MTV defines emo as being short for emotional, but that is really a misnomer, as the term was started by the singer of an "emo" band calling himself "emotive". It sorta grew from there. It started in the 80s & sort of grew from there.

Your teens will know what an emo kid is. They probably aren't one, so that isn't meant as an insult, but they probably know an emo click. Actually, if you ask your kids what an emo kid is, they will probably be able to define it better than me.

Better yet, see if they think the joke was funny.

Dang, I thought he was refering to the "comic" Emo Philips.  That dude is just really different.  Hard to believe he was married to Judy Tenudo (sp?).

I won for picking 2nd place Bluegrass Cat.  Of course it was only for $10 in winnings at our neighborhood get together.

The people who were doing the race cancelled so we went to plan B at the British neighbors house.  It was lots of fun with cookout and bonfire late into the evening.

I am creating a powerpoint presentation to pass along some TIPS AND TECHNIQUES for Excel.  It will be presented in 1-hour format at work.  I did not realize how much work it would be.  I will post the powerpoint on my web site just in case folks out here can benefit from it.

36 Slides in the powerpoint yesterday.  A lot of it will be lessons learned from JoeThello the 3-D Othello game I created in Excel.  Should be fun to teach.

A few new scans for items being put into the museum.
First is a drawing from kikuchiyo.  Then are the zombie-sama issues and another version of the skin13 parody of gen13 which has a centerfold of SHI in it.

Now. I notice @ the museum, you are missing 2 1/2s. Is this a #1 that you didn't know about or was this supposed to go in one of the 1/2 slots?

There are 5 of them.  I have 4 now.  I may not have them all posted on the museum site yet.  The Spider-Man with Grunge is the SKIN13 I am missing.

The Motor City show was a good time because I got the cover to my book.  Just a few more illustrations for the inside and it will be ready.  SLLAMKY01 does great write-ups, so I will not try to do that here.
