Shi loves me, Shi loves me not

I'm working on a new pic of Shi, so I decided to post the picture as I am working on it. I hope some of you will find it interesting to see how a pic is started and changes that may occur during the process, Here, I have akready drawn the rough layout and have detailed the head ,hair and part of her top. Enjoy and leave comments whenever you like. You can be critical, because I take everything in stride and have no problems with critiques.

I would guess I have put around 40 minutes into it. I had been doing it while my four year old was playing a video game. He always wants me to help him, so I have to stop and play the game for a while.
As far as a background, I have an idea  of what I will do, but it is not an actual area where
Shi will be standing. More of a design element.
Thanks for the comments guys.

Well, I keep most of them. I recently sold a couple Shi pics from a different website to a guy who liked my work. My plans are to put some drawings on Shi-bay to try to pick up extra cash to support my hobbies.
I want to buy some  original art from different artists on e-bay, but the way my budget is, I can't buy comics AND art. So I have to have another means of income to buy art. Art for Art, makes sense to me. I also hope to be able to do commission work the e-bay too.

That's neat that you've been able to sell your art.I know
what you mean about it being expensive buying Art and
comics.Unfortunately, I am having to start selling some of my art and comics to raise money. If this weren't the
situation I would be very interested in buying some of
your work.Maybe, in the not so distant future it will work
out. :-/

That's too bad to have to sell your hobby. My wife always wants me to sell some of my stuff, but she just doesn't understand the mentallity of a collector. It just blows her mind that I need to bring so much money with me to the San Diego Comicon while all year long I am constantly buying stuff. The Comicon is like heaven on earth to me. Everything that I love is under one roof, what can be better than that. Plus, I get to see Billy and spend a few hours with him and watch him draw. Plus, if I'm lucky, he invites me to dinner.
