The odd thing is none of the hand painted prints are signed
he also has the black and white version they are signed.
I find it odd that if Mark hand painted the print why would he not sign them

Mark was in New York doing paint on black and white lithos that were normal size 8 1/2 by 11 inches. Shanna was one of the images I saw him doing in Chicago last year. That is a nice Vampirella he did. I like the concept of the painted on lithos to make them unique, but 100 of them would be unlikely since Mark has been so busy.
Oh yeah, Mark was selling them for $100 each in New York.

I was thinking the same thing. the the fact that mark did not sign them. he is so picky about his signuture. and he keeps track so well and numbers them all. I sent the guy an email and asked who hand painteed them and he states Mark did. I think they are copies of one he maybe did.
this guy is also reselling some of the remarked prints that Billy did a Christmas

took Joes addvice and sent Mark an Email here was his answer Hey Scott, All is well here. I hope everything is going great with you as well. Thanks for looking out for me, but yes he is legitimate. He's my rep and although he doesn't have 30 hand colored B/W lithos, people can order them from him and I would do them as I go along. Yes, I have been absolutely crazed with work. I just finished up a whole load of paintings for Superman and the JLA for DC comics and currently I am doing the interior pages for two comics, "Elsinore" and "Liberty Girl". Anyway, I have to get back to work as the deadlines are getting crazier! Thanks again for looking out for me. Please say "Hello!" to everybody on Billy's forum and I hope to see you soon! As of right now, there are 35 pages of Shi items on e-bay under "comics". :o I think that may be a bit misleading if you do a search that includes the discription yoes you will get alot more results. But most of the time there may only be 1 ot of maybe 25 comics in that batch that is a Shi book. |

Do a Shi search on ebay.
After the results come back, look along the left side for "Comic" & click it. It will cut out all the unnecessary stuff.

Nah. I'll step aside. Cause I know he'll do the same for me in the future. He already did for me on the WOTW#2 Gold Ashcan. Even though I won a sketch from Billy & told Billy to send it to Joe directly afterwards, that still doesn't cover the sacrifice Joe made giving the opportunity to own a 1 out of 25 made ashcan.

Noticed last night that there was a guy selling a Shi pencil that he had done. Thing is that he seems to retain the rights to print color versions of his art work, apparently scanned and colored, in infinite quantity. My question is, can he use a copyrighted character like Shi in this manner without paying some kind of fee or royalty to Billy? Anyone...

Technically, yes & no. On the same note, Shi fan sites are copyright violations as well, so let's be glad for now that cease & desists are limited only to fans wearing Shi costumes to cons.

I have seen Marvel pursue folks on EBAY that do original art once they get up to a certain dollar amount - usually over $300 for 1 piece. DC also. Indy's are harder due to not having the lawyer capacity to charge after everyone.
