My question is, where is the most economical place to purchase one of those carpet covered tree/scratching posts w/ the relax boxes built up high? Thanks for any info.

Cute kitty!  I've got two myself - sisters.  If there's one thing I can say, it's that allergies get a little better the longer you're in the middle of them.  I'm slightly allergic to cats myself.  Slightly, because I've had cats for so long that it's gotten a lot better.  I was tested when I was younger, and they were surprised at how extremely allergic to them I'm supposed to be, but I'm not because you just get used to it after awhile.

I'd recommend Wal-Mart for the most economical cat toys/trees/play boxes, etc.  If you're looking for something modular, though, Petco or Petsmart or any local petstore should have something.  My cats love these blue fold-up cube things that Wal-Mart has (although not on their website... stupid Wal-Mart website) for like $3.50 each or so.

Yeah. For the most part all the pet toys are coming from Pet Co. I was just curious if anybody had priced around on the trees. The owner had Snicker's 1st round of shots a week or 2 ago for us & since they saw him pull out the credit card, they now have him coming back for kitty aids shots etc. They were going to have her fixed before they  sent her across the street to us, but since he is speding so much on shots, I think we'll take care of getting her fixed.
She's going to have to get used to being an indoor cat, though. Lickie doesn't let pets live outside. If we adapted an elephant, I'd have to build an indoor habitat. Once she becomes attached to an animal, she becomes crazy obsessed w/ their safety. She doesn't do people friendships well, but she'll bond w/ animals in a heartbeat. Works in my favor sometimes. She can't kill the spiders that surround our house since I've given them names. LOL. She's crazy scared of spiders. She's gotten better, though. Now that they have names, she talks to them when she's outside smoking. As long as they don't move towards her, she's ok. I keep trying to tell her, though, that they don't even realize she's alive. To them, she's shelter, like a big rock or tree. I do her a favor, though - I don't name the 3"-4" wolf spiders. That way, if she builds up the nerve to get close enough & still doesn't want them to live, she doesn't have a guilty conscience. Surprisingly, she's let fred live. Fred is a 4" Wolf Spider that lives 1' away from her new electric mower in the shed. I never told her that I named him.

We save every insect that we can around here (well except for ants). I have probably saved somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 spiders this past year alone. Now for the bizarre part, my son and wife are both strict vegans and we were a foster home for dogs for about 3 years until we opened the shop. But my son has this insatiable bloodlust when it comes to killing insects, except for spiders, since I explained to him that spiders kill other insects. Oh, and I forgot, we adopted two Boston Terriers to go with our pitbull. The puppies are named Kaji and Kori. Pics whenever I figure out where all of the digital photos are.

And,  unlike normal stone, this version won't biodegrade!  Stonehenge forever!!

Just goes to show that in Virginia they're willing to do just about anything to get you to visit.

So far, American Stonehenge in New Hampshire is my favorite.

Foamhenge is meant to just be fun. I mean. It was opened to the public on the day before April Fool's Day.

I'm not remotely saying that Foamhenge & Stonehenge are equals in any way other than size. Stonehenge has several satelite mounds & stones that add to the experience while w/ Foamhenge, you just get the henge stones & support stones.

The + side to Foamhenge is that not everybody can make it to Wiltshire, UK to see the real one. This one takes some travel to get to & is a neat little photo op & spritzer for any who wish they could go to Wiltshire to see the real one, but can't.

Another + is that it is out in the middle of nowhere & hardly anybody knows about it. I was there for 2hrs & saw 9 people. Stonehenge is loaded w/ tourists.

Another + is you have to have prearranged permission to get anywhere near Stonehenge (off the walkway), while w/ Foamhenge you can do everything but climb it.

Love that one!!  That is a great song and on that note, I have to share Shanobi Warrior's blonde moment with you.  I was listening to the radio and J.T. song came on (just need to get his cd) and she goes, "oh Mom do you know that they now call Justin Timberland"  I looked at her and said "no, Timberland is another artist that has done songs with Justin."  I guess innocence is bliss..

That's cute. I can see how she'd make that mistake, though, if she watches music videos. J.T. is in them since he is their producer & they are the 1st artists on his newly formed record label (I think).

Does she also know that JT is now dating the vampire slayer from Blade III (Jessica Biel to the rest of us)? Movin' up!

Which J.T. song was it? Summer Love?

Justified wasn't near as good as Future Sex/Love Sounds (IMHO). I think the combination of Sean Combs as Justin's new producer was a wise choice for his latest.

The good songs off of Sex are Love Stoned, My Love, Summer Love, Future Sex/Love Sound, SexyBack, What Goes Around, Chop Me Up & Losing My Way

vs

the good songs of Justified are  Rock Your Body, Like I Love You,  Cry Me A River & Nothin' Else.

That is true, but I think all artists creates an album that may only have one or two hits and then the rest are crap.  It is similar to Janets newest one but the songs on there (3/4 are very sensual) wait majority of her albums are that way

The rest of Justified was very Michael Jackson meets Lionel Richie (slowish). The rest of Sex is a little more Andru Donalds. Sex has twice as many hits singles on it if they are all released before his next CD comes out.

Sometime in July, JT is having a concert on HBO. My DVD recorder is acting all Bush on me right now. Hopefully I can figure out what's wrong w/ it by the time of the concert.

Lickie confiscated my Nickelback CD. I've got the CD single for So Far Away & Falling by Staind, but I don't have any of their CDs, yet. Just as well. Didn't they just put out a greatest hits or singles CD?

That's a lot of oxymorons. Thanks for the link.

1st I bought Long Road, then it was strategically maneuvered into her collection. So to retaliate, I bought the Long Road DVD to take w/ me on the road. I recently purchased their latest All The Right Reasons, which, I noticed this morning that it is suddenly in her car.

Don't know if you like Linkin Park or not, but I just missed them in concert.

READY TO KICK SOME ASS

« Reply #472 on: Fri, July 20, 2007, 05:57:55 »

Because of the new addition to your home.  And because you  said Lickie is allergic to cats. I thought  you could use this info.  Most  people are not allergic to the cat but rather the dandruff on the skin.
So this might help.

HOW TO BATHE A CAT

Thoroughly clean the toilet.

Add the required amount of shampoo to the water in the bowl and have both lids up.

Find the cat and soothe it while you carry it towards the bathroom.

In one smooth, quick movement, put the cat into the toilet and close both lids. (You may need to stand on the lid so that it cannot escape.) The cat will self-agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from your toilet. The cat is actually enjoying this.

CAUTION: Do not get any part of your body too close to the edge as paws will be reaching out for anything they can find.

Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a "Power Wash" and "Power Rinse", which I have found to be effective.

Have someone open the door to the outside and ensure that there are no people between the toilet and the outside door.

Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.

The now clean cat will rocket out of the toilet, and run outside for the drying cycle.
Sincerely,

The Dog

Delvie - yes I like Linkin Park and Aldia would of killed for that concert she really likes them, but then she is into this whole Emo phase.  She is going to the Ren Faire here in WI with some of her gf from hs and she is excited they are all dressing up and act along with all of them out there.

Scott that is funny, I have seen it before, I have an email that has a whole slew of pics of cats wet I should send it your way it is pretty funny!

That's funny Scott. I've got a "Hope you have a better day" card that's pretty funny that's almost the opposite. I'll scan it sometime.

Lickie's allergic to the allergens in cat saliva more than dander.
