Our Easter Service was great. Our pastor wanted to emphasize how PERSONAL Jesus' sacrifice was to each one of us. Every time I think of GOD giving his "only begotten son", I think of my own son and my love for him and what a GREAT sacrifice HE made for us. We are truly blessed by His love. Celebrate today with your family and rejoice in all that He has given to you.
AMEN!

One more thing I have to let slide by while saving for our new TV.

Oh well. That just means when I can finally afford to collect again, I will find the korean scale armor that I want.

Enjoy your weekend!

Thought for the day:

If what I say makes sense...
then we BOTH have a problem.

How many ADD patients does it take to change a light bulb?     Oh, look at that pretty flower in that garden!!

My son is ADHD, and today he decided he didn't need his medicine.  He is WRONG!!!!!!!!

I have a plasma and a LCD. I like the quality of the LCD more. It seems the colors are brighter and has better contrast.

72" HD Plasma

We haven't decided on a brand yet.

I figure between $2000 & $4000

My daughter has ADHD too and she hates her meds but she does know that they do help her focus at school.  My problem now is that she is 13 and the teenager is very apparent in her and now it more her not wanting to do her work then it being her adhd...

have you ever heard of a org. called CHADD they have a great web site. I know from first hand knolage that ADD changes when you hit the teen years and ADD in girls if different than boys.  do not jump to the conclusion that she just dose not want to do it. durning the change. is when we with  ADD are re-labeled as LAZY, DUMB, ect

You really have to re-educate yourself with what ADD or ADHD meens to your teen and how best to help her or him from now till gradulation.

and if she dose not like taking the meds than maybe they are not the right combo or dose.

there is a great book for teens remind me in a IM and I will look for it tonight.

the meds we have her on is Strattera, which is a drug that helps her focus (what she needs)  her hyperness isnt that bad because I can tell her she is to hyper and she needs to keep herself in check and she apologies and then calms down.  With her I have told her her meds or her adhd will not be uses as an excuse and I have been honest with her and told her that she could get off of them if she would organize herself and pay attention instead of having diarehha of the mouth.  Don't get me wrong she is a wonderful kid and I love her to death.  We havent gotten her into the doc yet but I know she needs them up.  My concern with her is that the meds she use to be on made her lose her appitite (side effect) and that was a big concern because she was alreay in the 25th percentile range for her age group in weight.  (she is tiny)  Strattera actaully doesnt have that effect and it has helped her keep her appitite and she has gained weight.

But on the being lazy, she has told me that she didnt want to do it or she forgot or there is a thrid party of passing the buck and it is never her fault.  It also doesnt help when the rest of her 8th grade class is 4 boys that dont care about education and she is picking up on that and she is bright and we have also hit the boy crazy stage.

I also have told her what adhd is and that her body can't break down sugar.

I do keep up on it and tj and I know that it is a wreak at this stage because of the hormones and all that.

If the book can help her deal with it i will see if i can get it
she loves to read.  My challenge is finding books to challenger her.

I know a 10yr old boy w/ ADHD. The mother feels bad whenever he needs the meds. It makes him almost like a sleepwalker. I've never witnessed him on the meds, so she could be exagerating. But then again.

I agree w/ your opinions of self diagnosis. I know several bi-polar women. One specifically is convinced that since she got pregnant & had a baby, she is fine & no longer needs meds. Ummmm... ok!

Scott I did see my im's from you thank you

My daughter is getting better, and I am finding it is more being a teenager and doesnt want to listen to her parents ( you know we know nothing and just don't understand...lol)  But with the meds she is on helps her in the classroom and we work with her at home.  We are up front with her and treat her as an adult and she does respect that.  I think with her being in martial arts has really helped with the discipline and structure for her (she is the higest Kenpo belt there and what sucks is Grandmaster will be here next weekend and she could of tested in front of him but do to a family event tj and kids will be going to IA for the family event)  With her being at the Koon and in martial arts we have found something that she is really good at.  (she has beautiful forms and she is the fastest student SiGung has ever had)  It also helps that tj and i are involved in what she does and never push her off to the side, we are very apparent of making time for each child or time as a family.  I think the biggest thing is if she would ever figure out the whole organization thing her life would run smoother and she would excel even more.
