I completely forgot that Zorro was still in the theaters, so I will be going back on Sunday to see it. Followed by Aeon Flux & then Narnia. The one I am really looking forward to, however, is Pirates of the Carribean in July.

Zorro was fun - the womenfolk all thought Antonio Banderas was looking too skinny - but my attention was elsewhere....

Well, the crew split for the weekend w/out telling anybody, so I got to see Aeon Flux. It rocked. I had forgotten several scenes from the original animation. I never could understand why they didn't make it into a movie til now. Now I know. Several of the special effects wouldn't have been possible til now. I love the explosive chips & the razor grass.

Today I went driving around Gulf Breeze & Pensacola taking pictures. Here are a few of the pics I took of the Viet Nam War memorial.

Somebody (Frankster?) had posted Blue Angels pics previously, so I thought that person might like this:

I know that Viet Nam wasn't considered a victory, but I thought this made a good picture. It is one of the words from Churchill's Victory
speech w/ a 3/4 size replica of the viet nam memorial wall in the background.

This was a child waiting for daddy to come home erected by the "Children Of Heroes Of The 20th Century Society".


This is a 3/4 marble replica of the Viet Nam Wall. All 58,479 American soldiers who lost their lives names are etched into the black marble panels. This is actually 2 pics seamed together.


There used to be a fighter jet suspended above the center of the wall. Apparently the hurricane swept it away.

The official number of American servicemen and women who lost their lives in the Vietnam conflict is 58,479.  (I don't mean to be a know-it-all, I just think that every one of those lives is important and we should never forget...)

Anyhoo... I didn't know that such a place existed in Florida.  That's pretty cool.  Thanks for posting the pix.

I was at the Memorial in D.C. last year and it was pretty awe-inspiring.  Half of it was closed down for some kind of restoration, which was too bad.  I tried to read every name that I could.

I was at the memorial in D.C. many years ago at night.  They had a protest about M.I.A.'s and there was a guy in a cage behind bars with ripped up army clothes, etc.
You never know what you will see out on that quad.

When I visited the monument in DC, I don't think my head was in the right spot to appreciate it. I remember it being impressive, but being my 1st time to DC, I was a bit overwhelmed by everything.

While that might be something to see, I am sure it was on the lawn.  The folks in that display sure did make a good point in that people have been POW's and MIA's for decades which is very sad.

Nope. I did catch a virus though. This is gonna suck if I can't retrieve my files. I was already planning on buying a stand alone portable drive to save all my files on. DAMN. Oh well. Been working up in Bohemia, NY for a week, & now I am headed for Jacksonville, FL to work. Anybody who lives on the Island might want to check out Gasho of Japan hibachi steakhouse. It was pretty good.
I will have to use hotel computers for the next 2 weeks while Lickie tries to save my files & reload xp. See ya 'round!

I just rewatched a movie that I've seen once before & have had a dramaticly different opinion of it the second time (the difference between using a handheld DVD player & a hotel DVD player through a tv).
If anybody has the chance to purchase Moon In the sword, I recommend it. It follows the path of two soldiers who have sworn an allegience of brotherhood & then end up on opposite sides of a coup. Set in 17th Century Korea, the costuming is awesome.

They've added a few new ones, it looks like. The spartans are horrible looking.

Utilikilts come in handy when working outside because of the pockets. Did I mention I live in a very homophobic neighborhood? Their gasps to my skirts (kilts) aren't near as loud as their gasps to my dress (Sarong). LOL! Wait til the latest Men's European fashions try to make it over here. LOL. This year a lot of people are wearing what looks like a cross between a hakama & a sarong. LOL! The American religious reich is going to FREAK!

After 2 Utilikilts, though, I stick to just buying used kilts. It's amazing how many people buy kilts & wear it once or gain too much weight to fit into it ever again. If you do this, make sure you have it cleaned several times before you wear it, because as you know, most of us go rambo under a kilt.
