Well, the ones I just listed are ones I need from Billy. I also collect Shi sketches on Shi covers from other artists as well. If Anybody goes to the cons & is getting an artist to do a sketch cover from somebody that I don't already have, I would be interested in reimbursing if they get the artist to also do a Shi sketch on a Shi blank cover. Here's the list of artists that I have Shi covers from so far: Dave Aikins Shane Bollins Bill Bryan Talent Caldwell Tommy Castillo Andrew & Steve Chatzidakis Brad Chavarria Mike Choi Danielle Corsetto Jeremy Dale "Dark One" Williams Evan Driscoll Ebas Bill Ellis Silver Elve Matt Haley Buz Hasson Terry Huddleston Georges Jeanty Nikos Koutsis Josh Middleton Jason Oleson Connie Persampieri David Quiles Al Rio Shelby Robertson Sean Shaw Louis Small Sherrie Spencer Sophia Spirliadou Mikhail Valentin Sue Van Camp Fabiola Vargas Marc Wolfe
I am also interested in trading for nonShi sketches that I might not yet have, or if anybody is @ a con that has new blanks that weren't previously available, I'd very much be interested in up to 3 blank copies. Anyone @ cons can text me to ask me if I have certain blank covers & I can respond rather quickly. My cell is 302-897-ERIC or 302-897-3742.

Here's an out of date (by close to 1/2 a yr) NON-Kookey/NON-Shi (for the most part) preview to my sketch cover collection.
Enjoy PS. I have 4 new Kookey covers. I'll get them scanned & posted asap. One of them is a Shi Transformer that looks like a cool chess piece!

You've got some great sketch covers there. What is the one that is mostly black with white lines? Looks pretty interesting. Oh yeah, that Magdalena is pretty sweet too.

Thanks, C. It is a Darkness cover w/ Silver ink. Unfortunately, the silver didn't show up too well w/ the scan, so I had to play w/ contrast a little which makes it appear white.

If you can't make it to cons, Slammy's part time hobby is spending other people's money. ha ha No. seriously, I wouldn't have 1/2 my Shi collection if it weren't for Slammy getting them @ cons for me.

I can't understand why Brad hasn't received any offers of work from a major comic company. He needs to do a pin-up page or cover for someone's book and be seen and enjoyed by more than this motley crew. I'm thrilled that I own a couple of pieces of his work, and think it's great that he shares so freely with us what he's done.

Personally, I hope a mentor recognizes his talent @ one of the san diego cons & takes him under his wing. I'm afraid he'll be taken advantage by the big companies. That's why so many excellent artists start working for Christianson & do so many covers & then end up hating his guts in a year or 2.

Thanks guys. Those comments really touch the heart. It would be cool to do a cover or two for someone. Heck, I would be thrilled if someone in the business even approached me with interest. I'll keep working on my stuff anyway. Chuck, I'll keep sharing as long as this board is active. I have a couple more pieces that I could post. I'll have to do that later after I scan them. I was bummed that I didn't do any work to enter the Shi-Jetta contest last year. Everything that I have been doing lately has just been practice in reaching a level that I want to attain. With using the white pastels in my latest pieces, I am starting to approach my work differently, which is a lot of fun. The last pastel Shi work I posted is something that I enjoy looking at and had a lot of fun drawing. It is, honest, just so cool to see the work take shape from start to finish. Sometimes I can't believe the work has come from my pencil. I actually recorded the drawing of Dejah Thoris and will someday post a link to it, but for some reason, I am unable to download the second of two parts. I have a little commentary going as I'm drawing, but it seems really corny.

Hey Kikuchiyo, keep up the good work. I really like the last piece you posted, the pose is very dramatic. Hopefully you can post yourself drawing with commentary. I would like to see the process of a piece being drawn from start to finish.

I love this cover. I had requested a Shi Transforfer of some kind.
Brad came up w/ a cool Shi Transformer Chess piece. I like it a lot.
Enjoy!

Those were fun! I wasn't aware of the numerous blank sketch covers out there. If there ever were any decent shows around, maybe I'd get to pick up some and have them done up right.

That's a cool Cobra Commander! Reminds me that the G.I. Joe movie is coming up. Hope it's good, the trailer I saw was kick ass!
