Guess you people up north don't have home air, huh? The temperatures down here are hovering around 100 for the highs, and there is little break forecast for the next 10 days. The new job has me traveling from site to site in the city, and my minivan is purple with a blue/grey & black interior. Can we say baked Chuck for dinner?

Luckily its staying somewhat cooler this year then last year. Keeps trying to go below 100 this week atleast. but still slightly humid. Since there is still some aug left. im sure we will go back up to 110 115 before sept. Or maybe it will stay where it is and life can be somewhat workable.

We are renting a house w/ no central ac, so we had to supply our own window units. The Bedroom is 70 & the library (Where I spend most of my time when I'm home) is 75. The doors stay shut on both rooms, but as soon as you walk out, it's a wall of 90. We have an AC downstairs that runs @ 75, but since it has no doors into the kitchen & entryway, it probably is more near 87 or so. The weight room has no ac & gets pretty warm. It only has 1 window & we keep the curtains cracked just enough so the cat can look outside @ the squirrels, owls & spiders, so it doesn't really get much light. I'm avoiding going outside as much as possible, this week.

Fill the tub w/ cold water. Run a fan over the water. (Don't throw it in).

OK. Since Lickie doesn't get home from work until 10:30 tonight, she didn't want me to cook anything for dinner for her bday. She said either this weekend I can cook or I can take her out to dinner. Problem solved. So then, since money is tight, she told me to not get her anything for her bday. Not being one to ever pay attention when somebody tells me that, I did. Well, I bought the complete ********* seasons 1-10 DVDs. Of course, 2 weeks later, they still haven't arrived. So anyway, quick scramble to buy some small things (because I was told not to). Everything is wrapped & so I thought I would be silly & hang balloons all over the entryway. 33 fully blown balloons later, the pets are fully mortified from the sound of the 7 balloons that exploded in my face. They won't even come near me. Some fun!

What you needed to do was tie 150 balloons to 2 lawn chairs and go on your very own private balloon ride. Of course now I believe doing something like that it is a felony under the Patriot Act and you probably would be arrested and sent to Camp X-Ray. But other than that it would be fun.

It would be fun, but it can't be done. I saw that episode of mythbusters.

Also, if you download episodes of the UK science show Brainiac the use balloons to float one of their guys. I believe it took around 200 to get him up and hovering at around 50 ft. And hell I would download all of the seasons of Brainiac anyway since they show you interesting ways to blow things up.

Hmmm... I don't recall which episode it was of mythbusters, but I they couldn't get it to work for them. I'll have to check out those brainiac shows. Sounds like something I'd like.

Well if I were into downloading British TV Shows I would check out www.uknova.com. I would also have a bittorrent client running on my computer which would allow my laptop the ability to play the shows. Hypothetically speaking of course.

I would watch them on my home computer as opposed to my laptop. I have a fast cable connection @ home.

For the record, those aren't ordinary party balloons that we were discussing. Those are big 4+ foot balloons. The largest balloon I used was 24".
On the other hand, I was confusing my myths & was wrong anyway. The myth I was confusing was the myth that party balloons tied around a child's baby carriage (as in Mr. Bean) could in fact happen or not. It required 3500 party balloons to raise a 44 bag which represented baby, carriage, diapers, bottle, etc stored in carriage. Myth Busted. My bad... wrong myth.
Could Larry Walters have flown a lawn chair by means of weather balloons, and descend safely by means of an airgun?
confirmed http://www.adamsavage.com/images/pix/balloonchairwide.jpg
Adam Savage went up in the MythBuster’s rig, which was a lawn chair with 16 plastic weather balloons attached, and went up to the maximum height that could be obtained with the safety ropes attached, 75 feet (22.5 m). He safely descended by shooting out some of the balloons. The actual event behind the myth was verified by documents provided by the FAA.
Later, they did a test on the David Letterman show to see how many "Party balloons" it would take to lift a man in the air. It required between 6,000 - 7,000 helium filled party balloons. http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/mythbusters/photogalleries/balloon/gallery/balloon7_hzoom.jpg Clearly, you guys have figured out that all the "Do Not Try This @ Home" labels were meant for me, but let me check the prices of balloons & get back to you. It looks like something I need to try.

now see I think you should concentrate on makeing your own. I think that useing thoes dixie kits you could come up with a real cool sheild with lets say 4 kits 12 shots in maybe a diamond pattern or a north south east west pattern the Designer in me I can think of a bunch of ways to tie them together.
where would you get ther shield?

If some fool is selling an antique one for $7K, Why make one? I do know a sword maker in MD that made one of the ones patterned after the original 16th century version. Wasn't too impressed.

I just received a catalog the other day with some incredible weapons in it. I can't remember the name of the website, but I will try to find it when I get home. We are probably ordering these new style brass knuckles that emit 900,000 volts to stun for my wife to carry with her for when she heads to school next year.

SO today & especially YESTERDAY were bad days. I can't believe I let another beautiful Katar get away. This one is gone because of an apparent brain fart.
I had been watching an auction for this

for over 6 days. Nobody bid until yesterday, but @ an unheard of $40 for what you'd normally pay $500+ for, I still planned on bidding if I could. Yesterday, I wasn't paying attention to the clock & I ended up leaving my house to drive to my next work location in NY @ less than 10 mins before the end of this auction. FRIGGIN DUH! I can't believe this guy got such a beauty for less than $500 & what makes me the dork of the day, is even broke, I could have spared $50 for this. The auction ended w/ only one bidder who paid a total of $40+Shipping for it. ARGH!
S'ok. That leaves me more Shi-Bucks... but still Hope everybody else is having a good day, though. How's school, Slammy?
