Dawn, it is good to see that your daughter is doing well. Since the change in meds, my son is doing better, and his grades have improved to the level that I expect from him. It must be different for you having a teenage daughter than it is for me with a teenage son. But, have you had the experiance of clothing shopping where everything she wants is the opposite of what you want to see her in? My son has decided that he wants to be a skateboarder and dress the part with the long hoodie, and his jeans/shorts down low with the crotch of his pants halfway to his knees. Of course, anything that mom or I say negative is bound to start a war, so we give a little to maintain status close to quo.

it hasnt been much of an issue right now because they have to have uniforms right now but once she is in high school this fall she can go back to jeans and all that. I was the sameway when i was younger with my mom and I have taken her shopping and she seems to like what I pick out but I have a pretty good fashion sense. What is funny is that I took a picture of chick at the chicago con last year (think her name was dazel) and said she cant dress like this. She barley had anything on and her chest was falling out. Needless to say she saw that and thought that was awful and said she wouldnt ever dress that way. We told her that she is a christian and that you are to respect yourself and your body and by showing to much shows that you are permiscuious and that guys take it in the wrong way.

I could never understand how the damb things did not fall to his ankels. the bigest thing about skateing is not what he wares but what he rides. I remember buying my son a new set of bearings and wheels $110. then a week later he was doing a grind and snaped his deck in half. $60. after that nomore fancy boards. just the plain ones. if he is out there every day for hours a deck will only last about a month. then I can not tell you how many pairs of shoes he went thru. they get wore right down to his socks. The thing that really changed the look was after he got his car and first searious girl friend. It still kills me how did my son ended up with this gymnastist/cheerlearder babe. she is the sweetest thing. they have there 1 year anv. in 2 weeks.

My son has been put on alert. Any time I see his underwear sticking up more than an inch above his pant's waistband, I will try to grab it and inflict an atomic wedgie! I am a big enough guy that I think with the right grip I should be able to get it up to his shoulders! Thanks for the warning about running through shoes and boards. If he gets a board, he will have to keep it up without my financial help.

LOL here is my sons deck of fame wall none of these decks cost less than $60 and I know I paid $95 for one of them. I do not remember witch one it was but his buddys got it on tape. he was grinding a hand rail down a flight of stair when it snaped. lets just say we hope he can still have kids.

I am SO in love! Not in a sort of way, but in a OOH! Gotta have it sort of way!
As some of you know, I collect antique weapons. Though, I have no real limits to geographical origin of the weapons I collect, I do tend to focus on Indian & middle eastern weapons. I've recently run across an item that I've known about for years, but only seen them museums & books. I'm not going to whine about what POOR timing this discovery is (although I have strong urge to do so). I've sent an email to the seller asking if could hold it for me or what his policies are on holding items since there is no mention of such on his website. TV still comes 1st & I am either hoping he will accept a down payment to hold it for a long period or since it seems to be an obscure webstore, that nobody finds it until things are right for me to purchase it. If things go my way, @ this stage in my collecting, it will be the holy grail of my collection probably for some time to come. Indo-Persian Armour-Piercing Katar Mounted with 'working' Twin 50 Cal. Musket Percussion Pistols (w/ Gold & Silver Inlay) My fingers are crossed!
I have another delima that I would like you guys input on. I am seriously thinking about changing the song that viewers hear when they are on my myspace page. I found a song that I like that I've had a video for the longest time. The thing is, I am also very attached to the current song & feel it is more representative of my moods on most days. If I were to say the new song were representative of me, it wouldn't be true, I just love the song. If you have time to listen to both songs & tell me which sounds cooler as in which makes your feet thump more & also you veterans on here who know my personality, which would you choose for me. I understand that your answers might be different for both questions, but I am hoping to use your input to make my final decision. I really am @ a tie myself. Which of the 2 would you choose for people to hear while they were viewing your page? I know some of you don't like dance music like I do & that's ok. Just wanting opinions. Nishikins? Surybabe? Feel free to come in from lurking for this one... ;)
The one I currently have & have always had since I joined myspace is I Like The Way by Bodyrockers http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=24261051 It should play as soon as you get on the page. (If it shows a different song is playing on that page, just click "I Like The Way" & it will switch back to that song)
The one I am on the fence about changing it to is Hypnotic by Bomfunk MCs http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=29478964 (Again, the default song should be Hypnotic, but if it isn't the same rules as above apply)Again, it's dance. Forewarned. Thanks for your input.

Delvie, that weapon looks painful. I do appreciate your fondness of weaponry. Some of the items that you have shown and own look really cool and painfully functional.

Thank you. This one is fully functional according to the seller. After I enquired about it & his holding policies, I noticed he altered the price from $2,600 to $5,000 this morning. By the way, when I say antique = I don't mean 40 or 50 yrs old, this is circa 1700s.

I like the teckno(sp) feel of the second song (Hypnotic) . it is more background noise with a beat. it has that body beat. it is not just your foot tapping. your head might be bobing a bit.
the first song (The Way by Bodyrockers) just seemed distracting.
So when dose this myspace door get open

As for the weapon :o it looks a bit strange. I am trying to imagine how it was used. You would fire the shots using your index finger, and pinky. So that would only leave your 2 middle fingers holding it in your palm, with just those 2 rods to grip. It seems like something is missing. (wood grip maybe?) And what about the butt of the piece. Those 2 long flats they would run down your forearm. Do you think a leather strap was used to hold it in place. I love the craftsmanship If you get it you will have to get some shot made for it. Just guessing but it looks like it is about 30 inches long That blade must be 4 inches at its base so this baby is not light. I wonder if it has ever been used it combat. Dose any history come with it?

I have my doubts I will be able to get it. The jerk almost doubled the price yesterday. $5,000 right now would take me too long to pay off. I wish I had never met Judith!
The entire piece is 19" long & the blade is only 9.5in. Plus you are holding it in the middle. Probably 3lbs @ most? But you wouldn't feel it because the weight would be the barrels & they are @ your hand instead of out away from it. You'ld be amazed how light "real" swords are. Most peeps have that conception, so I'm not calling you out... ;) Most of the junk made today is made of 440 stainless junk. Even high carbon steel blades made today for contact are considerably heavier than real swords. When you get a chance to visit I will let you handle some of my real swords. Just one of my store bought katanas is heavier than my 6.5' Flamberge was. Most of the weight in the flamberge was in the handle. It looked gargantuan but in fact was less than 5lbs. (Somebody got a real prize when they stole that). My Paul Chen Bugei iaito (nearlly top of the line) made for tameshigiri (Nishikins will know what I mean) is heavier than original blades. The difference between junk modern swords & nearly identical weight blades is a good $2,000 or so for western blades & 4,000-10,000 for japanese blades.
What you are looking @ is a katar (or Qatar in some sources). Most look nearly identical minus the pistols. Later versions did have quasi handguards, however. Never seen any w/ wooden hilts, which doesn't mean they don't exist... just not typical or the norm. Leather straps weren't used to my knowledge & would be problematic were your katar to be bound or caught by something. Your hand would be stuck. Also, all four fingers would be wrapped around the hilt. You'ld only raise your pinky & index to the triggers only when you wanted to fire.
Below are some pics for your enjoyment.
Armory collections

 Evolution from Katar to Pata

Notice the double blade

SCISSOR Katar

Hooded Katar

Other examples of pistol Katar (there's some up in the armory pics, too)

Hope you enjoyed the pics. I've got tons more if anybody wants to see more. LOL. Hmmmm... Perhaps I should start posting "Cool blades of the world" posts or add a pic every once in awhile to the blog. Is that something you guys would be interested in?By the way... today is NATIONAL KILT DAY! If you got em, air those puppies out! ;)

;) Critiques of my myspace. Does your computer view @ 800x600 or 1200x? On Lickie's computer, the background image stretches to cover the screen because she views 800x. My laptop views @ 1200x & therefore the background pic repeats. I forgot the code to make it 100% in all size screens.

when i viewed it at home and at work the pic did not repeat. Actually I like the background it reminds me of Braveheart. I wasnt on long last night because my internet connection was acting up. I know I will be on this weekend just because everyone is gone and i am stuck home do to school so I get insomnia when tj is gone or at work so i will let you know more later ok.
I am still trying to figure some of this stuff out myself. Feel free to let me know if i should make some changes.

I am sitting around putting together WOTW sets for sale. I must have at least 15 sets. Ummm... Nope. I said I get home "sunday" night. I was in North Carolina yesterday. Drove somewhat by Joe's house on Friday. Also, I posted that after I downloaded them onto my laptop. As an after thought, I thought you guys might want them.
Save 1 for a while, if you can. I've got a friend on myspace that likes Shi the character & has her as her background pic, but doesn't have any of the books. I told her to come here before going to ebay. Unless she's suddenly from scandinavia instead of the US, I don't think she made it.
I may have to have you pic me up more Michigan Blueberry Bob Bons. I managed to keep them from exploding in my truck in the sun until I got home. Lickie & I both love them.
Go ahead & package the big one. I'll get you the account # later after I cook dinner.
