Cover art from the new tradeFrom http://scoop.diamondgalleries.com/scoop_article.asp?ai=8735&si=122Wynonna Earp first surfaced at WildStorm Productions back when it was a part of Image Comics. Since then the home of this slap-leather, rough-and-tumble, beautiful U.S. Marshall with a penchant for monster-bashing has been at IDW Publishing. All the while her creator, writer Beau Smith, known by many as "the last real man in comics," has been at the helm. Now IDW and Smith are preparing a full-color trade paperback collecting her adventures called The Complete Wynonna Earp. In addition to an introduction by IDW chief Ted Adams, the trade includes "The Origin of Wynonna Earp," written by Smith and illustrated by Luis Diaz, "Red Necks, White Corpuscles and Blue Ribbon Beer," by Smith, Joyce Chin and Mark Irwin, "Acid Reflux Of Eating The Dead," by Smith, Pat Lee and Mark Irwin, "Home On The Strange," by Smith, Carlos Ferriera and Silvio Spotti, and "Blood Is The Harvest," by Smith and Manuel Vidal. It also contains, Smith said, his own "manly afterword plus a few surprises." To help promote the new trade paperback, Smith has offered readers of his internet column, Busted Knuckles, a free, postage-paid Wynonna Earp print, an offer he's now extending to Scoop readers. "I'm a pretty simple, grassroots kinda guy, so my marketing plan was too. Through my weekly Busted Knuckles column, The Mark Millar Message Board and the Geoff Johns Message Board, I offered to anyone--free of charge--that if they wanted a free signed Wynonna Earp print to email me at http://beau@flyingfistranch.com with their address and name and I would send em' a signed print, postage paid!" he said . I just emailed him, too. I'd met him at SDCC way back in 2001, and when I saw him again last year he was embarrassed to hell that he didn't remember me. ;D We'll see if he remembers me this time. I made sure to tell him to put the print between two pieces of stiff cardboard and mark the envelope twenty variants of 'DO NOT BEND OR CRUSH' so the idiot mail carrier doesn't try to cram the print into the mailing slot and ruin the thing. >:( *insert irritated cursing here*

Got a reply myself! Nishiko,
Of course I remember you. You're way too pretty to forget!
I hope all is good for ya. Been busy here, but that's good too. Keep your eyes on your mail box. You've got stuff coming. I hope you enjoy.
Your amigo,
Beau I bet he tells all the girls he remembers them. ;D I also have to wonder how many times he typed this letter considering the similarities between yours and mine, hehe.

I received some stuff from Beau on Saturday. There were a couple of signed items and a signed photo of him and a couple of women, perhaps his wife and daughter. Also some literature on some of the stuff he does. Very cool of him to do this. ;D

Billy - do something that looks good in B&W so it's cheap to produce -- but make it something original. That's my two cents.

Resembles? yes. Identical? No. I was amused that the "print" said new mini-series starts this September yet the promotion is for the combined edition coming out in July.

Maybe the reaction and demand from fans was so strong he ran out of the really nice ones. The fact that he personalized each one says volumes about how nice Beau is. I got a picture with him and a woman also. Could that be the mrs.?

I wasn't complaining. It's brilliant. I just sent Billy & JC a private message w/ ideas based on Beau's concept.
