Actually, I think Nishi was not being critical of you, Kiku, but was making a general comment that it's a disgrace that so many peeps misspell Kurosawa's name such that there are actually results from 'Kurasawa'.

I think you shouldn't feel that she or anyone was being harsh towards you.  Us editors tend to get rather anal about literary stuff.  I myself have been known to edit police statements and love letters .. so ...  Chill, relax ... have a sake.

Well, it looks like playful teasing.  But no offense to Nishikawa, she come across as being somewhat aloof in more than a couple of her replies.  That kind of attitude has a tendency to alienate people.  Admittedly, I do that too every now and then... but I try my best to keep myself in check.

Sury is correct. My comment was directed at those who screwed up the listing, not at Kikuchiyo. My apologies for not being clear about that.

For that matter, Kikuchiyo, if the comment bothered you that much, why didn't you say anything about it directly to me in San Diego? Why wait until now to mention it on the forum?

Terp: I'm currently editing for Billy. Pickiness is my job.

It's not so much that it is constantly on my mind, only when I log onto this particular topic that I am reminded of it, as it is the first thing that I see. I have no hard feelings toward you at all on this or any other matter. I apologize for making an issue about it now. I only did so after reading Terps post where your comment was quoted.

The underlying reason is,because when I did see you, there was a naginata within your reach. Need I say more? ;D

Nishiko,
This is definitely off-topic, but what does the symbol over on the left under your name signify?

Well, my answer is samurai-related, so it's not completely off-topic.

It's a kamon (family crest) depicting the paulownia, second in prestige only to the Imperial chrysanthemum and bestowed upon those who had Imperial favor. One may be most familiar with it as the kamon belonging to Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who was right-hand man to Oda Nobunaga and attempted to finish unifying the country after his lord's death in 1582; because of his work, he was granted the use of the paulownia by the emperor. Thereafter, it became the kamon used by the elite guard assigned to protect the emperor's family. My kenjutsu sensei's sensei also used this kamon, since our style is the one used by the elite guard.

Nishiko, That is fascinating.  I wish that my family had a crest to use.  It probably would involve 31 flavors of ice cream.

Who says you can't make your own and use that? I think it'd be really neat to bring back the regular use of heraldric devices.

That is a good idea.  I will put my thinking cap on and come up with one.
