I don't know, does it seam like they're just going thru the motions this year since Scifi bought the rights? The episodes just don't seam to have the UMPH! they used to. What do you think JC?

Haven't had the chance to keep up with the new ones, but I did watch it quite a bit when it first started.
I really enjoyed it.
It is one of the precious few times that a TV continuing series was better than the movie it was based on!
If fact, Planet of the Apes may be the ONLY other time that has happened that I know of.

I was horrified when I heard it was going to Sci Fi, and  I think we've definitely seen two or three clunky episodes in season six (which just resumed a couple weeks ago), probably as many as their have been in the rest of the series combined. That said, the quality of the writing and production in the other episodes has stayed pretty high. I really expected the show to tank hard (which would have been bad; I love this series), but I've really enjoyed it a lot. The mid-season cliffhanger was an excruciatingly long wait, the sign of something I REALLY want to watch. While I would still give this a cautious "wait and see" because of Sci Fi's horrible track record, they seem to be not messing with a good thing. And of course the show is preforming for them at higher than Farscape numbers while costing much, much less.

Avatar Press will be producing a really cool comic (well, I certainly have my hopes) for Free Comic Book Day. It's a flipbook of Robocop and Stargate SG-1, two new series they'll be launching this year.

Here's a link to the cover for Robocop:
http://www.freecomicbookday.com/images/covers_2003/COVERS_LG/robo-FCBD.jpg

I think the Robocop is based on Miller's original script for ROBOCOP II, which was much altered before we saw it on the screen. (Elements of it showed up in Robocop III, too, if I remember correctly.)

And here's the description:
Frank Miller's ROBOCOP / STARGATE SG-1 FCBD edition
by Frank Miller, Juan Jose Ryp, & Renato Guedes
Cover by Matt Busch [HURRAY, MATT!]. At long last, Frank Miller's Robocop finally sees the light of day! Robocop was one of the truly great bits of movie and pop culture magic from the 80's, and the cult of Robocop continues strong to this day. In full-on action, the Robocop story is told as Frank Miller always intended, composed straight from the master's original writings and scripts! With sequential adaptation from Steven Grant and art by superstar Juan Jose Ryp, the series will feature covers by Frank Miller, who is personally supervising the creation of the entire project. It's guaranteed to be pure Miller insanity! Also included in this book are pages from other upcoming Robocop books, due out soon. This amazing sampler book also features the debut of Stargate SG-1 from Avatar! With six seasons of shows currently on air and a seventh season coming, Stargate SG-1 has become a bona-fide media phenomenon. Now the smash science fiction series is brought to sequential life for the first time with this special preview of the upcoming series. Starring the original cast, these new stories are filled with the action, adventure, and drama that walking through the Stargate creates!

FC, 32pg..........FREE!

I should note that CPFoJCV (Close Personal Friend of JCV) Jim Kuhoric is writing at least some of the SG-1 series for Avatar and it should be pretty good. Mark Haynes, who is just about the best person to know about SG-1 stuff, worked on the script with Jim and made sure the continuity details SG-1 fans are known for loving will be in there. I hope they keep working together because the results will be great. (I don't know if the FCBD issue is Jim's story or not).
