Shi on City of Heroes

I was wondering if it would be ok for me to make a Shi like character on City of Heroes?  In case you don't know it's an online game where you get to make and play superheroes with all your friends and about a million other people.  The reason I ask, is, of course, out of respect.  I wouldn't make the character exactly like Shi, just Shi inspired.  I know marvel has already tried to or threatened to sue the game because people make large green tanker characters, or Wolvie ripoff and what not.  

Also, I'm new to this site so if it's already been posted I'm sorry, but was there ever a Shi movie made with Tia carrera?  I saw the posters and the comic with her on it, but I can't seem to find the movie.  It's even listed on the Internet movie database!  Any info would be appreciated.

Movie never got off the ground.  Billy is working with Hollywood again now on a new concept.

Yes Sun Quake you have permission to make a Shi for the game.  Please post a jpeg of her up before you do you so.  

Shi has been optioned by producer Mimi Gitlin.   Zhang Ziyi is attached to star and Ronny Yu to direct.  I will be meeting Mimi next week so I'll have more news about the progress.

Now, if someone could help me figure out how to put a jpeg into one of these posts I can show you the Screenshots of a City of Heroes Shi.  I tried to make it as close as I could at first.  Just to see if I could.

You need a hosting site for the picture.  There are some free ones out on the internet or maybe you have some space when you signed up for your internet service.

There is a toolbar icon that looks like a portrait just to the left of the email icon.  It inserts the 2 tags and you type your picture url reference in the middle.

Ok, here is my first attempt at making a Shi on City of Heroes.  The opitions are somewhat limited but it's close.  You can't paint your face a different color than the rest of your skin which really sucked.  So I had to either have her wear tights to cover the skin on her legs and arms or her whole body is white.

There was one where I could get a white face and tan body, but the face is actually stone and you can't change the color or designs on it.

PS. if you maximize the window then put your cursor in the borrom right hand corner of the picture you can make it bigger.

hey Larry the reason that a lot of the post that you have been makeing commits on have broken links is becouse they are old. for example this thread was started back in April of 2005. I do not think the Sunquake even post on here any more.
there is nothing wrong with giveing old post new life. but the brokenn link is a side effect of it sometimes

Ok thanks I will keep that in mind, something I want to see real bad by the sound of what I read I will ask you for it.

I was making that comment that I love most of the pencil sketches that I have seen up here, mostly by Billy but there have been a few good ones by other artists as well. Do you have a page set aside for nothing but pencil sketches period. everything that has been posted on here for quite awhile.

And the other question I ask on another thread and may get answered there as well , do you think Billy would mind if we printed some of them out and if wanted to frame them, just for our own personal use. I do not want to do anything wrong in that respect.

I left a post over in his Commssions thread on how we go about getting him to do something up of which I am more then willing to pay him for sure. But did not know if we could print out some of these sketches we see up here on maybe an 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper. Some of them would be great framed even at that size.

It's hard to police things in public domain. As long as you don't try to profit off of it, I'm sure he wouldn't object. You should seriously try printing one, though. I'm sure you'll find that the little pictures don't make for good blowing up. If there is a cover sketch that you like, chances are that there is a litho for sale.

His con sketches generally start @ $150 & work their way up from there depending on if it's a head shot or a bodyshot. The more complex, the higher the cost. I am not sure the exact costs. Just send him a forum pm & he'll give you exact details. If you want to have a sketch done @ a con, though... it would be a good idea for you to tell him a month or so in advance here on the forum. He gets swamped w/ orders @ cons & so he might have a chance to have a head start on getting your sketch done if you let him know in advance.
