Thirty years ago, Roy Thomas (then Marvel's Editor-in-Chief) and Dick Giordano (then most closely affiliated with Neal Adams' Continuity Associates) began a faithful adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic horror novel, Dracula. The magazine it was serialized in, Dracula Lives, was canceled. One more chapter appeared in a one-shot, Legion of Monsters, and then that was that. Thomas always had a full schedule and Giordano was likewise occupied. Even the most hardcore fans from that era probably forgot about the graceful, moody epic. But the creators didn't, and thank goodness neither did Marvel editor Mark Beazley. Horror comics fan owe Beazley a debt of thanks for getting this story up and running once more by its original creators. More than 100 new pages later, this issue concludes the story. We're sure it's going to make an awesome trade paperback, but right now we're just going to enjoy the "to be concluded," even if it's 30 years late.
