Glad to still be reading comics in my 50's.

Just saw it yesterday.  There is some good and some bad about the movie.  The villains were great but too short lived.  Instead of seeing something resembling games of death, a few seconds per villain are used to dispose of them.  Jennifer Garner was excellent.  She is so buff in this movie.  STICK - the blind sensei is a great performance by a veteran actor that also played on one of the SUPERMAN flicks as general ZOD.  He classed it up a bit.  The love interest angle is good and then it is also not all that believable due to the short timeframe.  The girl in the movie shows a lot of promise also.
I loved the fight scenes.  ELEKTRA is shown here in a more "RED" mood as the assasin vs white or black moods evidence by her clothing.  The movie seems to rush things for me.

I really like Sean McKeever's movie adaptation out now.  There are 2 varieties of it - one thinner and less costly than the other and not signed.  They have different content which is nice.

Billy, for promo items I have seen theatre posters, standees, magnets, Vegas opening poker chips, jewelry,
and many different regular posters.

I went last week to see it.
I enjoyed it. Especially the special effects of Tattoo. Typhoid Mary could have been used more. All-in-all, cool movie.

Lickie also enjoyed it, but in her words:
"There weren't enough fight scenes. They could have used less drama & more action."

What can ya do?

I saw it last week too. I gave it *** for just plain good. I mean it couldve been better by following these rules.
*Pick one or 2 main villain(s) not a whole posse of supervillains. Like the head master of the Hand and Typoid Mary with just the Hand ninjas.
*Marvel is very realistic compared to other companies it just bothered me seeing the ninjas disintergrate into a  poof of smoke like it was like watching a video game.
*Have more scenes with Elektra and less with Abby that girl was starting to annoy me, i thought the movie was about Elektra.
*I was hoping typhoid Mary would like the way John Romita Jr. drew her with the half white face makeup with the long red dreads.

Saw the movie last week and agreed with Lickie.  Not enough fight scene and I found the love interest thingy unnecessary actually.

Couple of points - Jennifer Gardner, while buff, is really a rather average actress but they tried to play up the "this is an intelligent movie about an action heroine" and failed.  She could not carry the movie for 1 1/2 hours.  I found it plodding when the fight scenes were not going on and the fight scenes poorly choreographed - her hair billowing in the wind is not enough.  That irritating teenager Abby had better fight scenes than Elektra.

Abby was bloody irritating and a very good ad for contraception.  I was rooting for the villians to just bloody kill her already 1/3 through the movie.

The love interest was cute but the chemistry between Elektra and him was missing.

I loved the special effects for Tattoo but Typhoid Mary's scenes were so limited, she might as well not have been in the movie.  Who was that chick anyway?  She was very pretty.

Terence Stamp was, as always, fabulous but again, the spiritual element of Elektra's psyche was poorly developed.  It felt like the director did not understand the spiritual elements of martial arts and therefore just winged it.

Will not be getting this in DVD, that's for sure.

Typhoid Mary was played by Natassia Malthe.
She has done bit parts in a lot of lower budget films.
She is very pretty and shows it in the MAXIM swimsuit DVD from 2004.

The original Shi film script had lots of merchandising in it as these "bloody Americans selfishly try to capitalize on the infamous murders that occurred twenty years ago in Japan."  I'd still like to use that script for the sequal and I'm working to push Kevin and Mimi in the "prequal to WOTW" angle for the first feaure.  More of a martial arts Horror and Thriller than WOTW, but we'll see...

Oo, this is a good idea. I'd very much like to see a prequel to WotW, though probably a little more in keeping with what was established in the series if it can be helped. I've actually been wondering lately what, if anything, Tomoe did with her degree, though I don't think you intend to go that far back. :) Just color me curious.

I just watched it on DVD and thought the scenes were better than I remembered in the theater.  The girl in the movie is still a poster child for contraception.  Typhoid Mary still has a role to play in Daredevil the sequel, if one is made.  Jennifer's abs are spectacular.

It was just plain awful.

No matter how much I wanted it to be good, it just was horrid.

Awful, dumb story. Corny dialogue. Poor acting. Equal direction.

Great casting for Stick. That's about the only strong point.

Yeah, and they're with Ben Affleck, pretty much proving that her brain is far less spectacular than one might have hoped.

May I ask What the Hell was up with the way they were dying.  The Ninjas disnintergrated after they were killed and they're ashes shot a green beam of light I mean what the hell was up with that. It looked like a realistic version of a 16-bit video game.
