Can someone remind me never to watch I Am Sam without sufficient Kleenex in the house? Bloody 'ell .. sniff ...

I think Sean Penn really deserves his status as Best Actor .. he never fails to disappoint with his performances.

I tried to watch the film, but kept getting dizzy from all the erratic camera movement. Did Michelle Phiefer end up adopting the little girl and have Sam move in or something?

OK, at the risk of spoiling hte ending for someone else ... no, Michelle Pfeiffer gets up the guts to throw the husband out, the foster parents realise that Sam & his little girl belong together & all's well that ends well. Sniff ...

I think Whale Rider would have been even better if Pei would have been pulled over by the Ocean Police for riding a whale under age. The dialog could have been from the cop, "Step off of the whale please, let me see your license and registration please!"
The movie was uplifting, but that granfather of hers was really starting to piss me off. Man was he sour! I am glad he finally lightened up at the end.
