Shi loves me, Shi loves me not

Here are a couple pics of my little Shi shrine for you to enjoy. It's waiting for the Virgin Shi fig to arrive. I have this area set up in my garage. The paneled backround cost around $300.00 and two days to finish. Hope you like it.

Thanks Boomboom. I store all my collectibles in my garage. I collect comics as well as action figures. I can post some pics of my collection if you'd like. I will have to take some during the day, as the lighting in my garage doesn't allow for clear pics. Because I spend so much $ on my hobby, I figured I better make my display area look nice. I now park my car outside to make room for my display(much to my wife's dismay).Hey that rhymes.lol. I have the Kabuki and Spawn figs too. I would like to have that Vampirella, but I don't think she would appreciate the lack of clothing.
I like how you have your collection readily available to read at any time. Your comics seem to be rather thick in size. Are those collected editions or trade paperbacks?
I at one time wanted to display my comics on the wall, but that would take up too much time with updates. I would love to set up a gallery of Tucci's covers, but I would need to find a list of his covers to do so. I am not a fan of the other artists whose version of Shi is to show every nook and cranny of her in lude positions.

I'd like that!! Always nice to ooze on other people's trophyroom!!

Luckily my wife accepts the fact that I LOVE badgrllcomics or at least comics that are both visually appealing (Vampirella, Cavewoman, Tarot) but to be honest sometimes not that storydriven (Cavewoman, Tarot). ANd she and I made a pact. Three actionfigures for a 3-dimensionalisation of my favorite comics! Tiffany was an extra parting gift from a colleague (and my wife was NOT happy with that!!!) I recently got the Caveowman-actionfigure too though but I dont think she noticed it!!

Well...to be onest....it WAS at first my readingroom/library/study and also guestroom but when my second son was born he also needed a room :)
The comics are still on those shelves BUT there is a huge white curtain that covers the 4 meters wide shelves for my viewing pleasure and I can only acces it if Max is awake!!

The shelves are btw very wide so you can see I have plenty of room to display an actionfigure in front of them!

Fortuantely in a couple of months I will be moving to a house with five bedrooms and one of 12m2 will be my very won comicroom then!!

I will make before and after pictures!!!!
LOL

Well the closeuppic here indeed shows big comics :) Those are collected Dutch editions of Spiderman, Superman and Batman. The grey albums are european issues of Rode Ridder (Red Knight). Dutch comics are collected by year. So I have the collected Dutch editions of SPiderman 1989 for example...
The books above Vampirella are also Dutch comics, Spiderman, Shangchi, FantasticFour, Dracula, Frankenstein... They were printed in BW with a cardstockcover and oversized format.

I have 1600+ original comics and 1500+ translated comics and European strips (that mostly have the GN-size of Marvel-GN in the US) in the Dutch language.

Add also 5 meters in books (see HERE for the horror/sf/fantasy books I own), 5 meters in videos (see HERE for the videos I own) and five meters of books from my wife and you see we have BIG problems in case of a FIRE!!  :o

Wow! Praise from the MAN himself. What a big thrill to have comments about my little display of Shi. Much thanks, Sensei Tucci-san.
I can't wait to tell my wife, to hear her comments.

Why? What have you heard? OK. True. My SHI-rine was a bit excessive, but to my knowledge, Billy & Deb are the only ones who have seen it. er, rather a video of it.

That is Shadow. She is from the Cy Girls collection. I wanted to buy her a while ago, before Shi came out, but felt kinda funny buying a doll. I thought she would be perfect fodder for customization. Her face is very pretty(as far as a doll goes. How about we leave it at that?), and I thought she would as Shi. So, after buying the Shi fig, I thought it would be okay to buy it.

Space? Where? Your art is already matted. They wouldn't fit in that area very well. If you'll notice, I actually had to trim the bottom of the Tiger Baby off just so it would fit.

Delvie, your post inspired me to take pics of my updated Shi-rine plus my other collectibles. Here goes one of a signed naginata and a birthday print from Billy and Mark.

An entire shelf dedicated to Shi and some close-ups.

I have other pics of my collectibles, let me know if you want to see them.

Hey Delvie, on the last pic, in the frame with me and Billy, there are two little Shi figs, that you probably have never seen or heard of. I bought them from Billy in 2003 I think. I tried to get better pics, but they didn't turn out.
Also, as you can see on my name badges, I had Billy do some sketches of Shis' eyes.

Actually, those figures are the same size as the Heroclix figs you see. They are inside that acrylic frame, to be protected from dust and falling.
