http://yeoldecomicblogge.blogspot.com/2008/01/cold-hard-look-at-current-state-of.html

Someone wrote a comparison between what is going on today with comics and how it seems to be similar to how things started to go down in the late 80's to 90's and how quality is few and far between.

Thoughts?

nah...

although the Marvel/DC-marketshare is overwhelming at this moment it is a great thing to be in comics! The quality is high where as the mentionned period bore more the ideas of quantities then qualities.

Unfortunately a lot of great INDY-ideas (Strangematter, Harris and many more) can not find the audiences they deserve to have, but that is another discussion

SHI-world in the 90's & now

1994-1997 Way of the Warrior 1-12
1995 Senryaku 1-3
1996 Kaidan
1996 Rekishi 1-2
1996 Tomoe 0-3
1996 Tora No Shi 1-3
1997 Manga Shi 1-3
1997-1998 Shi The Series 1-13
1997-1998 East Wind Rain 1-2
1998 Heaven & Earth 1-4
1999 5th yr Anniversary

2000 Shi Zero
2000 Year of the Dragon 1-3
2001 ShiGI
2002 Illustrated Warrior 1-7
2002 Poisoned Paradise 1-2
2003 Sempo 1-2
2004 Ju-Nen 1-2

Since ShiGI was a preview that went nowhere I really don't count it &
Since poisoned paradise & Sempo weren't special and are only in my collection because I am a neurotic completist,
I really only consider Zero, YOTD, Illustrated Warrior & Ju-nen the only worthwhile stories that should even count for the 2000s for Shi...

I really have to say, yah... perhaps the rest of the comic industry resembles the 90s, but the Shi world needs a 90s injection.

On the other hand - as far as sketch covers go, there were 5 art of wars & the 5th yr blank cover in the 90s & 10 in the 2000s so that definately rocked.
