Sweeny Todd

Went to the sneak peek of Sweeny Todd which comes out December 25th.  Johnny Depp starts in it and the director is none other then Tim Burton.  So, I won't go into details about the movie, but if you have seen trailers, it is misleading.  This is a musical and it does live up to Tim Burton's way of dark themes.  The whole musical took me for surprise and then to hear Johnny sing, while Cali was "oh great a musical" 

Overall it was good and had some funny parts.  Is it worth seeing in the theater, no, it is one that could wait till it came out on DVD.

My local high school did a production of Todd last spring.  My son was taken by the show, so that means we'll probably be forced to go see it.  At least Helen Bonham-Carter can serve as a little eye candy for Daddy.
