After work, I went to the movie theater down the street from my office building to watch "30 Days of Night".  I enjoyed it.  I haven't read the original mini, just some of the subsequent spin-offs.  I thought the film was a great horror movie.

There is blood and gore, but I didn't think it was too sensationalistic, but rather closer to being primal.  A classic case of hunter vs prey - no bloodsuckers with bad accents (though they do not speak in English, except one time) or looking like metrosexuals, but rather creatures stalking their potential prey.

Some parts seem a bit slow, but it helps with building up the suspense, making the viewer feel the anxiety of the wait as much as the townsfolk.

Overall, I thought it was well done, though I guess we'll see on Monday if others went to see it as well.

Julie and I just got home from seeing it also! We thought it was very well done! Don't want to spoil it for anyone.
