1st of all before i talk about One More Day! I think the Brand New Day! hitting November is a genius idea making Amazing Spider-Man thrice a month. I mean for the past many years Spider-Man has had alternating secondary titles. And you never can take them seriously and most of the time the other titles were off continuitty. Everything happens in Amazing. ONE MORE DAY! "What Would you do if you could have ONE MORE DAY" they say.... ...simple beat the living snot out of Joe Quesada. I cant take this anymore. You ruined spider-man enough by killing him, bringing him back, giving him talons, and revealing his identity to the world, and Aunt May's life hangs in the balance. Now you wanna off Mary Jane. All I know is you made your point clear at Philly last year saying Spider-Man is better off single. And you saying that Spider-Man wedding story was rushed only to tie in with Stan marrying them off in the strip. I personally think it was a great story for an issue done by a bunch of nobodies. I know there's already the case of divorce but the seperation story happened before and no one bought it. Well it says something more shocking then the unmasking will happen. Just because Joe doesn't like it doesn't mean we have to deal with what makes things better for him. You apparently learned nuthing when Karen Page was killed off. And you had to make Ed Brubraker take the bullets for killing Captain America. I'm gonna have to agree with JC when he sed if I saw the issue where Joe Quesada turned into a turnip. I pretty much enjoyed that one. Joe Q i got news for you, until you give me a job at Marvel the only thing i have to say to you is to: GO YOURSELF!

Don't worry. It's going to be revealed that MJ was just a skrull or a clone of a skrull and therefore the marriage was never really legal. Then we will find out that Ben Reilly really was Spider-Man and that the character that we have been reading for the past 30 years was really the clone. Ben Reilly will come back , the real MJ will come back as Jackpot and Aunt May will die for the 300th time, only to be brought back 6 months later. See eveything will work out just fine

But it makes perfect sense though. And it would tie in neatly with the whole skrull thing gearing up in the Marvel U. Wasn't Johnny Storm married to a skrull at one time? I think it was during the horrid 90's era of comics.

That was in FF # 357-358 back in 1991 during the Marvel cad craze. Which was when I got into the books.

Well I have been given a spoiler image by Marvel that I am not allowed to post, but it appears I was wrong but I would not count on MJ being around after OMD.

I'm assuming it the variant cover to part 4.

We were told that it is an actual image from inside of the final issue, not a cover. So I assume it will be the cover to the 2nd printing once the regular first print cover sells out. It is the combination of two images, one from years ago, the other from OMD. That is about as much of a hint as I can give out.

Personally I dunno why everyone goes crazy for Joe Quesada's artwork! I dont think he that great of an artist either! not mention he did do the covers to that awful SPider-Man spin off series... I do like the part in thje 1st of this series where Spidey webs the crap out of Iron Man.

When we were at Baltimore we received the AMazing SPider-Man Bible which outlines where the book is going post OMD. A lot of it is censored but it appears no more MJ/Spidey Marriage and a lot of new supporting characters and villains.

Totally did not see that one coming. Ok so it was clever how'd they pull this off. Oh BTW Chris..... Well I have been given a spoiler image by Marvel that I am not allowed to post, but it appears I was wrong but I would not count on MJ being around after OMD.
....Hand it over!!!!! Dont tell Me it's the image where Spidey is embracing MJ but she could pass as dead or not cause Bendis pulled that trick on us back in Ultimate Spider-Man #25 (I think it was). Well I don't say I much approve of this story but it's still better than killing MJ off however making the return of a vertain supporting character would not flow well with JM DeMatteis cause he's very proud of that Spec. SPidey #200 story. Well When Joe Q sed marriage ages the character i guess this is what he meant. The only personal reponisble for aging the characters was Todd McFarlane especially when he made MJ look like Peg Bundy.

Thank God I hate Marvel, and only pick up a title of theirs when there is a reason (Heroes for Hire by Billy Tucci!). The whole Spider-Man thing over the years is absolutely worthless. Don't like the storyline or the continuity? Well, kill someone off, make the past unreal, or ignore it all if you want. Until Marvel starts making sense, Anything but Marvel.

It looks Spider-Man just went through a DC crisis story arc. I mean then I guess this means that all the stories that JMS did over the years never happened then.

Wasn't there a comment here about Loki giving Spider-Man a Talisman he would use and someone sed it would fix the secret identity thing, the marriage and so on. Well whoever sed that looks to be right only thing was it wasnt the god of Mischief who helped but the prince of lies instead.

I've been trying to catch up on my reading (work tends to not leave much down time) and I finished reading "One More Day" this morning and I was not particularly fond of the whole story. Somewhat of an indication when JMS went on record to say he didn't like writing it but it was editorially mandated by Quesada that the story would rile some. I wasn't too big of a fan of JMS's run anyway but how it ended (don't want to ruin it for those that haven't yet) is awful and the rebooting/retconning is not good storytelling but just a cheap way out and will probably be done away with at the next "big event" where "things will never be the same!", ugh!
I was a Marvel fan through and through for years (mainly due to X-Men) but lately it seems that the only decent books there are by Brubaker and some of the X-books (just my opinion) but at least the horrid reshuffling of late causes me to seek out more indy and older stories.

Thank God for Ultimate Spidey. Sure it was in a slump for a while but ever since the Clone Story it's been on fire. I'm looking foward to the Amazing friends arc. Good series still even though the Bagman was replaced by some douche who wrote a book on why artists shouldnt do comissions for fans.

Ultimate Spider-Man has been good of late, I agree with you there with regards to the flow of the story following the Clone Saga. I think Quesada wanted to make the regular 616 Spider-Man titles be what Ultimate is (which was originally supposed to be a jumping point for people to go into the regular Marvel U) which I think should actually be two distinct types of Spider-Man, but what do I know?
Yeah, Frankster that is really screwed up about that book. I saw some exerpts from it on his site. While some of the "reasons" are a bit funny, it shouldn't be used to justify not doing sketches. Granted, I know some are busy at cons and may only have time to sign, I understand that and I'm willing to pay artists for their time in doing something for me if they are charging reasonable fees (either for themselves or as donations to charity). I know some don't like it when they think they're doing something for a fan and it winds up on eBay, but there are a lot of us with sketchbooks that won't sell them.

1st off Javery it should be Mandatory that each sketch be personalized this way people on ebay wont buy it. Every sketch I've gotten to the day has been personalized to me. The Dealers ruined for everyone. Bill Morrison of Futurama and Bongo editor is not allowed to do any more simpson or futurama sketches on white piece of paper cause they've been put on ebay.

Several sketches I've obtained have been personalized to me and I think that makes it all the more worthwhile. It wasn't something I bought online, but something that an artist took the time to draw for me, specifically. My Sal Buscema Captain America sketch and David Lloyd "V" sketch are two of the ones I have that are personalized and I cherish them immensely.
I bought an original Darkhawk page from Mike Manley back at Baltimore this past September. It's sort of a nostalgia piece for me since that book was one of the first ones I started collecting on a regular basis. Mr. Manley asked me if I wanted it personalized and I was happy he was willing to do so and told him how much of a fan of the comic I was. I think he could tell I wasn't BS-ing him and he seemed happy knowing it wasn't just going to be put up online later.
You want to talk about ruining sketches? An artist I met at Baltimore was telling some of us a story on how he was doing sketches for the Hero booth and someone working there asked if he could do one for his girlfriend who is sick. The artist had no problem doing that but then less than a day after he gave the sketch to the person (along with the other fundraiser ones), he found it up on eBay with some of the ones that were going to go to Hero. Ever since then he won't do any work at that booth because of people like that. Also one of the reasons why he will charge when he does do sketches nowadays. Damn shame.

But back on topic (sorry to have diverted away from the topic at hand), I'll probably voice my lack of enthusiasm for this story by using my wallet. In that, I'll probably not get the Spider-Man books anymore. I know they're going to try to publish it 3 times a month - though I'd like to see them actually do it once a month consistently. I figure the 9 dollars a month I would have been spending there could be a little bit more in my pocket or I can put it towards some Indy books or other things that pique my interest.

Yea I was thinking of dropping the book after Dan Slott, and Phil Jiminez do their arcs. But this sucks its like every story from 1987-2007 now never happenned. I sure as hell hope Venom doesnt get cut out now do to this. But if they were gonna alter this I woulda rather seen Norman Osbourne remain dead from the glider, a classic got killed when they brought him back.

I do not like dropping books but I really can't see myself continuing to buy a book I became less and less interested in as time wore on. I figure I can put the money I'm saving towards Sgt. Rock! I was looking over my pull list and I realize I buy a loooooot of books so dropping Spidey won't be too bad for my LCS. Plus I have been trying to read more Indy books, older trades, etc. So I guess I can thank Marvel for that.
