Caught the preview of TMNT last Saturday before heading off to "The Ancient Order of Hiberian's" parade.  It's fun, picks up from the last movie, has some incredible CGI, and ain't half bad of a movie.  There were a lot of kiddies there, but my 14yo and his friend enjoyed the pic.  The kiddies got a little bored when the movie tried to inject some plot into the fighting.  There was an Akido demonstration beforehand that was fun.

Gotta say, I don't know.  I haven't seen the cartoon that you mention.  It seems to flow from the first 2 movies (no Shredder, but his disappearance is mentioned).

I watched it Friday with my five year old and must honestly say, that I could watch this a hundred times and not get tired of it. To me, the CGI is amazing, the story holds up on its own and the character relations are very believable. I am not a big TMNT fan, but I had periodically picked up a comic or two to read and watched cartoons and two of the regular movies, and in my opinion this is way better and more entertaining than anything that I have ever experienced with the Turtles. I was even thinking about watching it tonight at evening prices. To someone who is a big Turtle fan, they will probably notice things that I don't know. Let's just say, that I was entertained from beginning to end. The makers of this movie should be proud of themselves with this movie. I'm hoping there will be a part 2.

Probably the columnist from the American who was quoted in last week's Wall Street Journal that certain comics have outpaced the S&P 500.
