Hello all,
We recently redesigned our website and if anyone has any extra time, I would appreciate any feedback on its accessability, readability, and design. Also, after looking at it if you had any suggestions for improvement or other features those would also be helpful. I was thinking of adding a page for reviews of comics, but am not sure of the conflict of interest, since I own a store.

Thanks

READY TO KICK SOME ASS

« Reply #1 on: Sat, January 20, 2007, 12:34:04 »

ok I poked around a bit. and over all it looks cool.
but
and you knew ther would be a but

I do not like how it is all pulled to the left side.  it feels like there should be some kind of margin there
next would be that your pitchers of comics are not the same size so there is no Commonality feel to it.
the other thing that would be cool, but maybe to much work, would be to have larger images pop up when you clicked on the thumbnails

Thanks for the help Scott,
I have tried a few times to get rid of the justify left that keeps happening, on my preview of the site everything looks centered and fine, but once I upload it, it gets justified to the left for some reason. I am going to be resizing all of the pictures to make them seem more uniform across the site except for the front page where I will go with larger images. I have tried to figure out the thumbnail situation, but have yet been able to find a way to make it work.
Thanks Again

One thing that I would like to add to Scott's notes are that at the bottom of the page you have lines overlapping (Contact us:).

Try <center> before a table or make the width of the table large and put <td align="center"> as table data.
Style sheets may be a little different to use for centering.
If I have multiple columns in a table sometimes I use width=33% or width=200 or some number to gaurantee the width of a given cell.

Thanks Joe and Chuck,
I will fix the overlap and try to format it with the code.

No prob.  That's the least that we can do.  Good luck with the site and the business.

I'm sorry to say but the site does not work in the Firefox browser at all.   sorry  I can't click on any of the text links - although the PayPal buttons are working.

What software are you using to create the site?  I'm guessing it's a Microsoft product.  eyebrowraise I looked at the code and it's got tons of extra unnecessary coding in it. rubeyes

You might want to try Nvu - http://nvu.com/index.php - it's a free web site authoring program that should be more cross browser friendly.  coffeenpc

Hi Maida,
I am using Publisher for it currenlty. A friend of mine is a Computer Architecht and I will have him see if he can fix the Firefox problem. I will look at the NVU site as well to see if I can change everything over easily. The only reason I use publisher is because that is how we were originally set up and the uploading takes only a few seconds once I change something. Thanks for the help

Since it is not readable (the source) due to Publisher using lots of < span >  and other stuff, I can not help you really with the code.

However I must agree with the others...

It is TOO much to the left...just have it level out in the center, using 90%-width on a centered table. That table should capture all the data on the frontpage.

I also can not use Firefox to navigate and since I do not use anything else at the moment.. fit
