Hey all,
Just thought I would let you know that I am starting to become the most quoted retailer in the area. My quotes appear in The Man of the Year Article about Joe Quesada on page 28 of this Month's Wizard (Out Today) and on page 132 of the Shop Talk section. Hopefully, this will translate into Holiday sales as people who buy Wizard at the Largest Retailer in the Midwest (He owns 9 stores in the Chicagoland Area and 4 within a short drive of our store) will try to find us after seeing that there is another shop in the area.

We are trying to find a way to spread the word about us without going into severe debt through advertising. I was half tempted to set up in their parking lot and sell Civil War # 5 for $1.00 the Wednesday it came out , but I probably would have been arrested. We already offer better deals on subscription service ( We offer 15% off no minimum , they offer 10% but require you to buy 10 titles to get the discount) and since we own and run the shop, if you come in and are buying a bunch of back issues I can give you a huge discount on them, whereas they have to call management to see if they can discount anything.

That is why I love our comic book store here in Milwaukee.  He is the biggest one here. I am trying to convince him to have Billy come (Billy said he was game for it) but the owner is afraid that no one would come.

Our dealer usually orders stuff if we forget to turn in previews or if there is something he gets that he knows we usually purchase gives us first dibs.  We have been with him for 10 yrs now.

Tell him you know at least 2 people who would come to see Billy. And hey, Milwaukee is only about 90 minutes away so if it was a nice enough day I would drive up to talk to him. Since he has been there for years he could easily draw 50 to 100 people , especially since Billy now has Heroes for Hire out.

And I just found out last night that a new comic shop opened only a short drive from us. I do not know who owns it but I need to head over there and check things out and see if I know the owner.  They are located on a major street  in a shopping center, but the last 4 things that were in that spot went out of business in under a year since they have no anchor store , only a couple of restaurants .

Oh and I forgot we are running huge Black Friday sales. I am offering 50 % off all back issues for the rest of the month and Marvel Civil War # 5 for only $1.00. I put an ad out for this on craigslist and it is on our sign so hopefully the thousands of kids that will be down here tonight for the parade will see it.
