According to The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, Bill Paxton (Titanic) and Ben Kingsley (Gandhi) will co-star in the live-action THUNDERBIRDS film set to begin shooting next month under the direction of Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: TNG).  Paxton will play billionaire former astronaut Jeff Tracy, who leads his five sons in International Rescue in their mission to save the world, while Kingsley will play the villainous Hood.

Additionally, DARK HORIZONS reports the cast will also
feature Sophia Myles (From Hell) as Lady Penelope,
Phillip Winchester (The Patriot) as Scott Tracy, Lex
Shrapnel (K-19) as John Tracy, Dominic Colenso as
Virgil Tracy, and Ben Torgenson as Gordon Tracy.

Will Bryan Johnston who handled the F/X chores for the Andersons' Space 1999 and Lucas' Empire be helming the SFX?

Will they use the "Thunderbirds are GO!" song by FuzzBox as the theme song?

(FuzzBox: Early '80's Girl band... Not early enough, however as they came in on the coat tails of The Go-Go's, The Bangles, The Tom-Tom Club, et al...
Their version of 'Spirit in the Sky' is still the best I have EVER heard...)

....what?  The '80's are OVER?....but....but....but...

Maybe they should have looked at TV's 'Mister Sterling' for one of the Tracy boys?  Either Scott or Virgil?
