I bought issue #1 of the new Gen 13 series. One question?  What the @~$# is this $#!+.  The plot and the characters are totally changed. Grunge has no tatoo.  Weirdest part of all is the parents part.  Somebody better have a good explanation?!!!

After the Captain Atom Armageddon Mini the entire Wildstorm Universe was rebooted due to the explosion he caused while leaving.

Aboslutley stupid.  And me like the idiot spent $10 on the Campbell cover.  I wanted to to see it from where it last left off after Chris Claremont fixed the awful story where Adam Warren (who I hated as much as Greg Horn) killed off the team where it turned out that they never died.

I've been meaning to pick it up, but haven't, yet. I'm not surprised. Seems like lately, when they bring back a series they start w/ a crumby artist. I'm a huge Warlord collector. DC just brought back the series w/ Bart Sears as the artist. This thing is completely butchered. The artwork is more abstract than talent. I had a lot of respect for Bart Sears as a pinup artist, but that certainly went dodo after doing this series. They finally brought in a decent artist for the last issue & now I'm told the series is canceled. Of course, that may have been DCs plan all along, so I won't gripe. (much) I saw a lot of potential w/ Warlord just like I see a lot of potential w/ Shi.   pray

I used to read Warlord back in the day and really enjoyed it. I am surprised that I didn't pick up this current run. I am not a fan of Sears, though he can turn out a great looking pin-up from time to time. That had no bearing on my decision not to pick it up. I just have too many titles that I read each month, that I couldn't afford another one, nor could I "trade" a current one for a new one. I am glad that I didn't pick it up.
I actuallly like when titles are only limited in their runs, in that I will get a complete storyline, though I wish that they would continue the title with another story and not end it. I was thrilled more than you could believe when the new Conan series came out, because he is my favorite character of all time. Though right now, the stories and artwork are a little short of  my expectations. The same with Red Sonja, the artwork/storyline has dropped off from when it first came out. It seems now that they are just using the "babe with a sword" character to sell comics, as apposed to the art AND story. These titles contradict what Delvie said with his post, at least in my eyes.
Back to Warlord. DAMN, what an awesome character design! I think I will have to revisit back issues. Delvie, I don't remember who the series main artist was. Didn't Neal Adams do some issues?

I actually haven't read any Red Sonja, but I am an admirer of the cover art. I have a friend that dances in much the same outfit, that was what originally caught my eye w/ RSonja.
Mike Grell was the main artist for Warlord.
I'm sure there are many exceptions to the case that I stated & in fact, since I don't read a lot of comix, perhaps my assertion is actually the exception to the norm & I just have bad luck in my choices. LOL  noway
I like limited runs, but I "HATE" itsy bitsy limited runs. 6-15 is a good storyline to me... everything else is a short burst. I loved the 12 issue WOTW. I have been somewhat frustrated ever since w/ the 2 issue runs & the 4 issue runs. Nice artwork & storyline, to be sure, but it's like watching a movie or a tv show & @ the end you're looking @ the screen thinking "That CAN'T be it. There HAS to be more! I'm not ready for bed yet!"
