Howdy folks!  My Hellboy: Weird Tales story came out today.  It's only 6 pages, but the art is beautiful. And I love the textures that the colorist brought to the piece. I'm a pretty happy guy.

Congratulations, Big Daddy!

I'm going to grab a copy before I hit the road for the Pittsburgh Comicon!

EVERYONE - check this one out!!!

Talked with the Image guys at Book Expo America in Los Angeles this past weekend. All are very excited about Whiskey Dickel and Jim Valentino said Nowheresville is almost sold out.

I don't know what constitutes "almost," but that's still great news!

Guys and Gals -

Seriously, please, order this comic. Hip stores will carry it without being asked...

...but other stores won't UNLESS YOU TELL THEM YOU WANT IT!

Well, I finally did it.

There has been something itching inside my brain.

I thought, you know, I bought a book once before called
"International Cowgirl Magazine".  It was pretty cool, but only made a couple of issues.
I wonder if there is a connection to "Whiskey Dickell, International Cowgirl".

So I dug those comics out of the Comics Vault (garage).
And low and behold.....

By Mark Ricketts
and with a Whiskey Dickell story in each one!

I was very pleased with myself.
Come down to Texas for the Wizard World show this November and I'll treat you to a shot of Dickell Whiskey!

If you DO make it down, we'll take you to the brand spanking new 'Cowgirl Museum' in Fort Worth.
You, of all people, NEED to see it.  It's pretty damn cool.

(And the whole trip is a 'Business Expense' anyway, right?)

And as for what Mark is doing AFTER Whiskey Dickel, International Cowgirl...

Diorama is just one of the things he's got on the way!

Dear JC, i checked out the link for comicbookresource.com and discovered Hawaiian Dick info.  It says they are releasing a TPB, but i still haven't seen #3 of the series? ???  My favorite comic store checked, and said it hasn't been released yet, so what gives?

Steve -

Sorry I didn't see this post before. It seems that Hawaiian Dick #3 didn't get the PR the other two issues got. It did come out, though, and it's a great read. It was probably about two months ago, though my concept of time has really, REALLY degraded in the last month and a half with all the conventions.

Official CPFoJCV Mark Ricketts is the new writer, for a story arc, on IRON MAN.

This is very cool because Mark is a wonderful, talented guy.

It's also weird for me, professionally speaking, because it's the first time a friend of mine has taken over a book from another friend of mine. How weird is that?

I called Mark after I heard he was writing Iron Man. I told him that somewhere in the story he had to use the headline STARK: RAVING MAD.

He laughed because he had actually just typed the words. It was already in his script!

How cool is that?
