Guys,
Here's the Lady Death cover for issue #1.  I'll finish up the Shi version tonight and post it tomorrow.

Enjoy:

I would like to see a variant with a different finger raised to show disgust with Christianson.

You could also sneak something into the background or the sword like Alex Ross did on his covers of Terminator TBE. When Now Comics was very late paying him he hid Now Comics Sucks backwards on the cover in the Terminator code that was running along the side of the front cover.

I am hoping to put Ana's reflection in the sword and vise versa.

Will you try that as a standard cover or as a foil enhancement to give it a prism reflection effect.

Maybe she is happy like the rest of us that this is the last crossover from Avatar with Shi in it.

I just can not figure out what type of laugh or thought would generate that type of grin.
The closest thing I could come up with is a long Growl

I am doing one cover of Lady Death and the other of Shi.  I don't know how many covers Avatar will do, but will insist on getting several copies of each and EVERY variant.

Billy,
Is this the last contractually agreed to Shi series with Avatar? And if it is do you know how many issues it is going to be.

Look at the detail in her eyes. they knock me over this version of Shi seems different is it a new model.
At first look I thought the neck was very thin but then noticed it was just the way her hair was laying

Great Cover. And Great news that this is the last of two issues from Avatar. Any chance now of a couple of crossovers with Marvel or DC or even Dark Horse characters. Or could we hope for a Shi Mini or Regular Series in 2007.

Both are for issue #1.

I sent Will C. an email concerning the out of control cover numbers.  Even more that we agreed upon (and this doesn't include the foils of which wasn't covered in our agreement).

I am also supposed to get cover approval and haven't recieved any thus far.

All right Billy, I won't kiss butt with my comments. I think you need to cut down on Shi's chin. The space between her bottom lip and the bottom of her chin seems to be too large. Also, I think you can widen her jawline, it is too narrow and makes her look kind of goofy.
With Lady Death's smile, I think you might see more wrinkles in her nose, because her smile is so big. Her right ear seems to be growing from her cheek too. Her chin also seems to be a little long.I also think you have too many light sources on Shi. Are you depending on the colorist to create shadow from her weaponry?
I know you can take my critique and tell me to shove it. After all, who am I?
I'm just a fan who goes broke every July because of you and that darned gorgeous creation we all know as Shi. ;D

I hate to say it, but I thought the preview cover where Shi was showing in LD's bra was sort of funny... ( the "face off" cover by Martin).  Gotta disagree with kikuchiyo - love the Shi figure, but LD's chin is positively pointy...
