Nice. Who is publishing it ? IDW Publishing, same folks who did our three one-shots. This is a six-issue series and it's actually the one we proposed that made them like it enough to go get the license.

Looks Great Old Bean!
Any chance of an agent Tucci appearing and NOT getting killed?
Really looking forward to this!

Really looking forward to this! Billy, not in this one. The story was written years ago. It was our original pitch to IDW that caused them to go get the licenese. We're excited to finally get the chance to do it. That said, we'll make sure you get yours later on! ;)

Joe Corroney's variant cover for #1. All of Joe's covers will form one bigger image! NICE!I've been trying to nag Billy into doing that ever since the end of the Illustrated Warrior Series. http://www.williamtucci.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Shi;action=display;num=1085969610;start=0#4 Well, really, ever since Jim Balent did that w/ 3 Kittens. Meanwhile, lately, it seems like everybody has noticed a market for it because I am seeing more & more series do it. I thought Shi could break new ground by being the 1st to have 7 connecting issue picture (so far, I think Udon has the most w/ a recent 5 connecting covers for Street Fighter). Kudos. I'll be collecting that connecting set.

Anyone around here have any thoughts about getting the word out about 24: Nightfall #1? I'm anxious to let people know that it's regular comic book format, not like the one-shots we've done so far.
Any thoughts about this would be appreciated.

One way I can think of is message boards for the tv show. I had nothing to do today, so I searched for message boards through links, etc. Here's some stuff I found that might help:
http://forums.fox.com/fox24/start http://www.tv.com/24/show/3866/forums.html?tag=tabs;forum http://www.24addict.com/kieferland/ http://www.take24.co.uk/forums/ http://24chat.proboards25.com/ http://24fans.3.forumer.com/ http://s7.invisionfree.com/24natic http://s4.invisionfree.com/24scripts http://fan-forums.org/forumdisplay.php?s=1bff917432788fee8f48bae45da5ee03&f=43 http://www.almeidaisgod.com/forum/ http://www.24-archive.com/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=59 http://24zone.proboards92.com/ http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?s=847ac879fadae5b53953d9a39494fe97&showforum=589 http://www.24fantalk.com/ http://www.24onfox.net/v-web/bulletin/bb/index.php

You might also look into getting on the fanclub newsletter http://www.24fanclub.com/
You might also see if this guy is interested in putting a little info on his myspace. He might do it for a free comic. Who knows? He seems to get a lot of hits. http://www.myspace.com/24podcast
Here's more spots for ads or promotion: http://www.myspace.com/24cast http://www.24weblog.com/ http://twentyfouronline.com/ http://24.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page http://24fan.blogspot.com/ http://www.24fans.com/
You might also consider talking to some of the fansites about posting an interview or doing a quick interview to promote. One I noticed is already promoting is http://24natic.atspace.com/index.htm
If you speak spanish, this is the latin america 24 site http://www.24la.net/
I'd also contact FOX. They are promoting the book, the magazine, the game & the soundtrack cd... why not the graphic novel? http://www.fox.com/24/
Another good place might be the 24 Fanfic site. Of course, you might already be a member. My bad, if you are. http://www.24fanfiction.com/
Another newsletter http://www.24inside.com/
You might also see if the cast sites wouldn't mind promoting http://www.kiefersutherland24.net http://www.kiefer-rocks.com/ http://www.carlosbernard.com/ http://allstarz.hollywood.com/~haysbert/main.html http://elisha.primenova.com/ http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Club/7939/htmlpages/mainframe.html http://www.lesliehope.com/
I found this interesting. These are 24 Livejournal Icon sites. http://community.livejournal.com/24_icons http://community.livejournal.com/24_contest You could promote by offering signed comic prizes to the winners or even by holding a contest of your own, there. Obviously, 24 fans would need to own copies of 24 graphic novels to do a 24 Comic Illustration Icon Contest. You could discuss it w/ the site administrator. They hold the contest & you put their ad in your newsletter, etc. Something like that.
Hope that helps.
You should think about starting a myspace account. Either for yourself or for each of the comics you contribute to & then linking to the boards & friends of similar ilk. You'd be surprised how many peeps you run in to. For instance- Go to http://www.myspace.com/24podcast & click on this guy's "view 24podcast's groups" & you'll see all the groups he belongs to (I've listed the most frequented ones for you above). Once you are @ those groups, you can post a bulliten or a message (bullitens appear to stay on page longer). Also, you can look @ the profiles of the other members of that group. If they appear to be BIG 24 fans, you might think about sending that person a message about viewing your myspace page (which will have either all or specific project info... your choice). Your myspace account can also coincide w/ your newsletter. You can also send that person a friend request if you want. If they accept you as a friend, that means any friends they have or any people checking out who their friends are will see your icon & can visit your page. You can do all sorts of things w/ your page. I can help you set one up if you're interested.
I'm currently working on one for Shi to add Shi news releases to, but I haven't done much to it yet. I'll probably do a little this week. http://www.myspace.com/sexysohei For some reason the music won't automatically start. You have to push the play button. Still trying to tweak that. One of the codes I used somehow canceled out autoplay.

Okay, my variant hunting friends -- I finally have something other than 985 Avatar Shi variants to contribute to the discussion:
For retailers who order 24: Nightfall #1 (and would suspect they'll part with them for a price): There are also special incentives at the 25, 50 and 75 copy levels. These include a Jean Diaz sketch variant cover, a Joe Corroney sketch variant cover, and a photo cover, respectively.

One other site that the Delvie bot may not have mentioned is Aint It Cool News. www.aintitcool.com They have a weekly comic book review and since it is a board about TV and Movies you could do an interview on there and reach both the comic and TV audience.
