Good reviews by movie critics - I might go see it tomorrow.

Not here in St. Louis.  One downed it for not being enough like the graphic novel.  Another simply hated it and gave it a D-.  I saw it and found it kept my interest for the 2+ hours it was on screen.  Had a nice promo for Superman Returns, although the CGI cape looks really bad.

I sure hope Vendetta was better than Vampirella. No offense to Vampi fans... but that movie...

My wife and I went to see it over the weekend.
I did not know it was about GUY FAWKES (sp?)
and from the slant of wanting a terrorist to win in a more modern day setting with bio-warfare and human population trials being done by the government.
Complete with a Hitler-esq raving lunatic at the helm, the government does chemical experiments and BIO warfare was the aim.  It all goes to he$$ and V for Vendetta is born.  He lives through a raging fire unlike the original GUY FAWKES who was burned to death.
He has quick reflexes and massive strength, along with a sense of style and education.  You never see his face, just his burned hands.  Natalie Portman is the heroine really, and the main focus of the film.  I was ok with that.  I consider this her first serious role.  Although the Sinead Occonor look with the shaved head made me think of Belfast and terrorist activity, she was a normal person just getting wrapped up in the times.  I give her an A for effort.  It was a fast paced movie and I enjoyed it.  I doubt my British neighbors would.
